Yes, I am aware of this going on and the previous people who answered this are in one of the groups:
1. Totally unaware of the facts of what is going on in Washington and unwilling to look at them for whatever reason.
2. Do not have any pride in being an US citizen and don't care what happens tomorrow.
I have seen the memos which Chertoff sent in Sept. of 2005 saying something like the following:
"Dept. of Homeland Security answers to MEXICO and CANADA and not the US"
The article got them through the Freedom of Information Act. It also showed some of the "Working Groups" which include a PARLIAMENT which would be OVER our Supreme Court.
This is not Conspiracy theories people!

Hogwash! The Prime Minister of Canada and the Presidents of the United States of America and Mexico are meeting in Ottawa to discuss trade. Why in hell is it that folks can throw up some link from an obscure source and treat it like it's a fact?
The sad thing is these members of the tin foil hat brigade have never read the charters of government of the nations they claim to be involved in these great conspiracies, let alone be able to even locate the capitals of the nations involved on a map.
Yahoo won't remove your question. Even the guys and gals in tech support need a few laughs now and then.

First off. He can't do that. I don't care how powerful you think your president is, without support from the Canadian Prime Minister, and the Mexican President, we are still all independent of each other. He may convince Mexico to join, but there is now way Canada will jive with that. Quite frankly, we just don't like you that much.
As for the Amero and the Euro. The Euro isn't unified across Europe, England still has the pound etc.
Only Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain and a few others use it. I doubt it would be any different for us.

Bush can try. Canada will not have any part of it.
The vast majority of Canadians distrust the United States, mainly because we keep violating the agreements we have with them now. We have been honourless about the softwood trade issue, for example, and many Canadians have suffered as a result of our leaders' bad faith. Further, they look at us as a heavily armed nation of hooligans and zealots who have no proper health care system.
How are we going to convince them we can be trusted with a formal union? The corporate elite will never allow a public health system, because they make trillions on the one they own. The gun advocates will never accept handgun restrictions that the Canadians would insist on.
Bush can try all he wants, but the Conservative minority government in Canada will not dare to even raise the issue.
The Mexicans distrust us even more than the Canadians. We attacked them in 1848 without cause, and took Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona and California. Since then we have meddled in their economy and vilated their borders at will. Whatever the Mexican leadership says, the Mexicans look at us a savages as well.
If we want a union we have to learn to be better neighbours, because the people on either side think we suck.

I find it amazing that the media is not reporting on this development. Bush just a few days ago met with both countries in Canada and all it received was a blip of coverage on CNN that said US One had landed safely. It just makes me think of how much BS is being spouted about immigration when we are on the verge of becoming one big happy family with Mexico and Canada.

Yeah...are you a retard...he can't do that.
The committees and laws that would have to be signed in all 3 countries would be endless. And what would be the point of suddenly absorbing 100 million Spanish speakers. I can understand SOME benefits of a US-Canada union, but what would the US stand to gain by putting in Mexico?
Unless the prime minister of Canada, the President of Mexico, and GW all declare themselves totalitarian dictators of their countries, they can't just go combining themselves into one big nation. Anyone who thinks the EU plans to become one big country like the US or something is just as dumb.
A federal system maybe, but there can't be one person in charge of a continent. Every single country in Europe has different languages and culture, how do you purpose that all gets combined into one big happy nation?

Yup it is Bush's fault, every bad thing that ever has happened is Bush's fault. He killed Elvis, caused Pearl Harbor, bombed the twin towers and was the shooter on the grassy knoll.
Remember the media quoted "sources in the Bush Administration" He has a time machine, didn't you know that?

I did at one time hear that he wanted to make America and Mexico one country, but I didn't hear about Canada too. But you know, Bush is Bush... and that IS saying alot. He's probably going to eff up the country before he gets out of office.

I guess that is what happens when American Idol becomes more popular than what is going on in the country.
Most people don't know, you are right, sad thing is most people wouldn't know where Europe was or let alone what a Union even is.
