We are looking into buying a new one before ours finally goes out.

And I have noticed that many fridges now have the freezer on the bottom. How does that work for anyone that owns one like that here.

And the price really does not matter, much.

Most of the popular brands are fine. Don't waste your money buying one of the more expensive brands, like Sub Zero or Viking. The "bang-for-your-buck" isn't really there. That Viking looks exactly like an Amana. Hmmmmmm......
Try one of the bottom mounts at the store. See how your wife likes it. Ask her to bend over 100 times like she was putting groceries away. Mine hated it, and did so with a passion. GE does make a great machine, especially in their Monogram line.
We bought a Maytag side-by-side that does a great job. Everyone is happy.

Sub Zero has the best reputation, and lots of models with the freezer on the bottom.

They can be energy hogs, though.
