The first day of your menstrual cycle starts with the actual first day of your period. As the other poster mentioned ovulation happens 14 days after that which is why some women may get some pain around their ovaries as the egg (and I'm talking about those who don't take the pill) is released. When we are on the pill there should be no ovulation because the pills are taking over your period.

The breakthrough bleeding can be as a result of forgetting to take some pills. Because of this it could possibly affect when your period comes next so I would recommend talking to your doctor about this as well to see what they say.

You would likely not get pregnant until 10-14 days after the first day of your last period. Implantation bleeding is usually just spotting, which usually happens around the time when your period is due. It's likely that your just experiencing varied hormone levels as a result of your antibiotic use, and not pregnant or miscarrying, especially if you're on a very low dose pill. Your birth control isnt safe on antiobiotics and even some allergy meds and cough medicines can affect it. It wouldn't hurt to be extra cautious and to use added protection next month until you level off again.

ovulation happens 14 days after your period. It's the time when your body is fertile and an egg is ready to be fertilised...you should use protection anyway cause stds are nasty
