I am 35 weeks pregnant. I have heard alot of mothers talking about how their baby reacts to loud noises & the sound of their voice whilst inside the womb. I always feel my baby moving but even when loud noises scare the hell out of me, I feel nothing.

Also do you think babies in the womb can feel people touching my belly? Whenever my partner touches my belly, she will push back in the exact same place.

I've got to give you a star for this question. First of all, I think you're being a little paranoid about the baby being deaf. Don't worry, sweetie!! Everything sounds completely normal. I just got the biggest smile on my face when you said about where she pushes back in the same spot. That has to be the sweetest little girl!! Congrats, and stop worrying, OK? :)

I think that you are just an exited, worried, and anxious Mama to be. My children didn't react to loud noises when I was pregnant with them, and they are not hearing impaired. When your partner touches your belly its not so much that she can feel the touch. It's more like she can tell that there is pressure there in that spot. It sounds like she is responding fine. When she is born they usually do a general hearing check for all New Born's in the nursery.

Well Im not really sure but I know for a fact that babies respond to sound and touch ( thats why ppl play motzart cause it makes the baby smarter) I would wait till your babie comes out you cant tell right now because the babie hasent fully grown all its parts and functions yet. When the babies born the doctor will do a check up and see if you babies ok.

Hope I helped xoxo lee

Maybe she is not easily spooked, which will be great when she arrives because you won't have to worry about making everyone be quiet when the baby is sleeping. As long as you can feel movement, everything is fine. I trained my babies to sleep through noise by playing the radio in their room when I brought them home. Yes, they can feel what's going on outside the womb. You answered your own question there.

your baby is probably fine. most hospitals do a hearing test while the baby is there. when you're there, ask if they do. if not, it's easy enough to primativly test his hearing by clapping your hands by him when he's asleep.

yes the baby can definately hear and feel what's going on around him. he hears noises a lot quieter than we do.

the loudest noise your baby will hear while you're pregnant is your heartbeat and the sound of blood going through your arteries. hard to hear over all that noise. that's probably why he's not responding to loud outside noises.

I have the same thing happening with me and I am 29 weeks. I frighten very easily. I can know that the person is there, they say "boo" and I jump and scream. I wouldn't worry about this. Maybe when you are frightened, he/ she is just still, that is what I think is going on with my baby anyway. I wouldn't worry too much about it, this is something that you can do nothing about and worrying sure doesn't help.

I wouldnt worry... My first child reacted to all stimules... my 2nd I thought was dead, she didnt move much at all.. I never felt her move.. I was so scared the whole 9 months.. But everytime my doctor did a simple monitor.. we always heard the strong heartbeat.. She came out crying and never shut up afterwards and is healthy... All babies are different.. Just make sure you voice your questions to your doctor..

wow - don't stress yourself out with this. Babies are as individual as we are - if you are constantly around loud noises, then your babe is probably just used to noise. If there are problems, you will find out soon enough but for now enjoy your last few weeks of pregnancy.

No your baby isnt deaf. I think you are worrying about something that doesnt warrant worry. Chill out sweetie. THis must be your first. I understand if it is. YOu worry about everything. And this doesnt need to be worried about. I'm a grandma now and as they say been there done that. Your baby is fine.. NOW relax and enjoy your bundle of joy when he or she arrives.

no she probably just doesn't mind it you have to remember that its much quieter in there like when you are under water. my son never really moved because of loud noises just familiar ones he would go nuts if my hubby hummed one my belly. i mean i guess it is a possibility but i wouldn't think it would be any higher of a chance than anyone else.
