To the questions of what happened--to generalize, I opened myself up in an answer about something very serious about me & I was put down for it. I was so upset, I deleted the answer. I now know where the boundries are. Lesson learned :-)

Yes, I've hurt some people unintentionally. Sometime I even avoid putting my own feelings on the line online. You just don't know how serious you should be.

well due to the internet age we are in... I have noticed in the past 10years or so.. people are slowly loosing their humanity/community skills.. We dont see people face to face any longer, so we dont read emotions or hurt in just typed messages.. We forget that there is an actual human with feelings on the other side of that monitor.. its so easy to just type out cutting words.. But if we sat back and thought.. How would I feel if someone told me that.. we'd probably not post it.. In the past, we met people in person, we'd never just outright say these things to some stranger we've just met. but nowaday its different.. AND.. sadly it is running over into society outside the net.. I see the new generation of kids at schools (im a tutor) say some of the most nasty things these days to others.. No moral check at all.. They just dont care.. its sad really.. We as parents need to teach our young ones about others feelings.. before it gets much worse..

It's the anonymity. They would be cowards if they had to confront you in person but here they can hide behind their avatars and say the MOST hateful things. Thank God you're not one of them and continue to be kind.
I remember reading a quote once that went something like this: If people only knew how much kindness is necessary for us all to live our lives, how essential it is for growth and happiness, they would never cease to be kind.
Those people are either sociopathic punks or maybe they've never known unconditional love. Maybe nobody has ever been kind to them.

Im sorry that ur feelings got hurt and to whoever did it, the point of Y! Answers is to help ppl as much u can. yea we tend 2 get a little silly sumtimes but sum questions should be taken seriously. however by putting ourselves out there thru our questions we are exposed to alot of jerks and assholes who simply don't give a damn. the best advice is to learn how to ignore the idiots and appreciate the help that many do provide.

Yes, I do understand it. I come on here to help people. I'm an educated person. No one has been terribly rude to me, but every time I see someone hit the thumbs down tab on me it does hurt my feelings. But then I see that they hit the thumbs up tab on some idiots answer which was based on no education, no common sense, and just plain rude. So I don't know what to think. But I do know how you feel. Sorry this happened to you.

I'll look up this question, and I'm sorry you're hurt.
Yes, online chatting, or other forms of it, creates this invisible wall that makes text ambiguous to decipher, and alot of times, it can be mistaken from its original intent.

I was once trying to be funny and felt their pain when they retaliated and put rude remarks in my old questions and comments. I learned my lesson now and try not to hurt anybody intentionally. Some people take my sarcasm as insults. I now know you can't read sarcasm only hear it.

Yes I do. I try to be respectful and kind. I sometimes kid and hope people know I am joking. I wouldn't hurt anyone's feelings on purpose. I am sorry if someone hurt yours.

Yes. That's why I always try to answer questions with politeness and avoid any disparaging remarks that typically happens around here.
