1- Gears are used to match your engine speed to the road efficiently. Lower gears can accelerate well but have a lower top speed. Higher gears have high top speeds, lower pick up and better fuel economy.

2) BHP is the same on all vehicles. It is a measure of the engine power at the engine's flywheel (not the power at the wheels)

3) CC means cubic centimeters. It is a measure of the total volume of fuel/air mixture that engine is capable of drawing into all cylinders during one operating cycle.
Sometimes you will see it measured in cubic inches or liters.
Generally speaking, the more air and fuel an engine takes in during a cycle, the more horsepower the engine will produce.

1.Gears are for shifting the transmission in the motor to help the bike go from a dead stop to top speed and back. Like a mulit-speed bicycle.

Once again there are lots of people answering questions when they don't know what they're talking about.

Break horsepower is a measure of the power (energy over time) that your engine can apply through the wheels of the car. It determines the *torque* (twisting power) that the wheels can then apply against the road.

The horsepower that an engine produces determines two things that are noticeable to the driver:

- The maximum rate of acceleration of the car
- The top speed of the car.

The reasons for the first are obvious. The reason for the second is, that as your car goes faster, the external forces that make your car slow down increase (wind, friction etc) therefore you need greater power to make the car go faster.

There are several definitions of horsepower (it's not a metric or SI unit), but when talking about cars, the definition usually meant is 0.7457 kW (33,000 ft·lbs per minute

3. cc is the size of the motor measured in cubic centimeters like 1000cc or ci "cubic inches" like a 350ci Chevy engine.

depends on what gears you are asking about the purpose gears it to transfer rotation from one shaft to another ie crankshaft to the camshaft engine output to the rear wheel etc the gears can be 1-1 or used to change the number of rotations up or down as 1 gear turns once the other turn 100 times the transmission acts like a 10 speed bike does. bhp is basically the amount of hp at the back of the engine see below -cc is the measurement of the volume inside the engine and is also known as displacement and are usually rounded up ie 1789cc is usually a 1.8L see the 2nd site listed hope this helps you out

Gears are to allow the engine to run in its optimum speed range throughout the bike's speed range. You use higher gears to go faster.Brake horsepower is a measure of how powerful the engine is.Cubic Centimeters is the displacement of the engine, the capacity of the cylinders.

Brake horsepower is a measure of how powerful the engine is.

Cubic Centimeters is the displacement of the engine, the capacity of the cylinders. It's a way of classifying how large the engine is. It is roughly related to horsepower but not directly.

1. Gears - Speed (N)- Torque(T) control N ~ 1/ T
(first gear - slow speed to fourth gear - high speed)

2. BHP - power handling capability of vehicle

3. CC - Engine capacity

I thought BHP stood for base horse power, the horse power that the engine is rated at from the factory, before any modifications.

Gears: like a transmission in a car

BHP (Brake Horse Power): horsepower produced at the drive (rear) wheel(s), as opposed to engine horsepower

CC: metric method of measuring engine size, vs American SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) method of ci, or cu in
(Cubic Inches)

3.) CC stands for cubic centimeters.
This is the volume of space above the pistons when they are at their lowest point in the stroke. it is a factor of cylinder circumference and stroke length (how far the piston travels up or down).
