shopping malls aren't closed during day time. they just close like from 2pm-7pm.
restaurants and cafes are closed until sunset.
u cannot eat or drink or smoke until muslims break their fasting at sunset. u can still do it at the hotel anyway.

life goes on normal as far as shopping is concerned thou most offices work only in the mornings and shops close in the afternoons and open late and work late in the night .
eating in public places is probhibited and even all restaurants and hotels outlets will be closed. u can eat in the privacy of ur room .

Yes to all. Non-muslims can eat but they have to be extremely conscious not to be seen by muslims since it is a show of disrespect. Just lock yourself somewhere and do not eat something that smells for them not to detect that you were eating.
