The main cause of halitosis (bad breath) comes from the sulfur compound waste products of the bateria that live in the mouth. While most of the natural flora that live in mouth are good/helpful that are many that cause bad breath. Dentists call the chemical by-products that cause bad breath Volatile Sulfur Compounds (VSC's). Some of these SCs inlcude:
hydrogen sulfide - rotten egg smell
methyl mercaptan - rotten cabbage smell/added to natural gas (which occurs oderless) for detection purposes (anyone who saw the Mythbusters episode about attempting to cover fart smells, will recongize this one)
cadaverine - yep, just what it sounds like, cadavers/corpses/dead things
putrescine - again, what is sounds like, putrifiying/decaying meat
skatole - uhm, yeah, skat... smell of human fecal matter
dimethyl sulfide - smells like decayed vegetables/garbage
isovaleric acid - sweaty foot smell
That's the reason his stinky feet and bad breath smell the same, because of the stinky feet bateria (Isovaleric Acid).
Seeing a doctor or dentist just to eliminate the possibilty of any medical or dental disorders would be a good idea just to be safe. Even if it just turns out to be plain old bad breath and smelly feet, he can get help with these problems and ensure good health into the future.
As far as proper brushing, some people don't brush or scrape their tongue too. This should be done everytime he brushes his teeth and flosses. The types of mouthwash that may work best are those that are specifically made to break down the VSCs. Diluted Hydrogen peroxide can be used, but it does not taste so good.
If he suffers from dry mouth, this can be the cause of the bad breath. There are several OTC mouth rinses specifically designed for dry mouth.

Aha, there are two culprits to that effect. Either he has a bad hygiene or his physio-chemical attributes (his whole system and the enzymes or substances produced by his system) is in a bad state.
Let us go to the first reason: Bad Hygiene:
Did you ever notice how your husband take care of his body, oral hygiene or cleanliness? If not, you have to observe or ask him. If you found out later that he does not brush his teeth or bathe well and maintain his body's cleanliness, then there must be wrong. Of course, you have to expect that he will get a bad body odor, breath etc.
Second, physio-chemical attributes:
Our body produces substances that affect our body's smell. The enzymes or substances emitting from our pores or any opening are those that manifest when we yawn or talk, or when our feet smell. This is because of what we drink, eat or induce inside. When what we ate or drank are already processed, the substances are either used by our system but there are also which go to waste. These substances that are already used will be emitted or excreted from the body in the form of perspiration, fecal matter etc. When we perspire, the liquid state of perspiration evaporates and that produces the odor. Our body has a lot of porous openings, on our skin and sometimes some people have wet feet, that is why i suspect that your husband's mouth and feet smell the same because of what he ate or drank.

He's either got a medical problem, or he's reacting to something he's eating.
Bad breath usually means that something is rotting in his mouth. Either lots of bacteria are feasting on the food in there (how are his brushing habits?) or he has a rotten tooth or gum disease. He need to go to a dentist ASAP to X-Ray his teeth and check his gums. The Dr. can give antibiotics if he's got an infection. And he's going to need to brush better.
Smelly feet can be athlete's foot or toenail fungus. Probably other possibilities, but those are the most common. There are easy treatments to those too. He should see a podiatrist. And also look at his shoes. Do they breathe well enough? Or do they hold the sweat in? Feet like to be dry. Make sure he's wearing breathable shoes and putting on clean cotton socks often.

Well...
Could he have found a woman or man who likes to suck or lick his toes, or someone from whose high heels and toes he likes to suck and drink champagne?
It could be an infection that is really in all his body. It could be a matter of cleanliness and sanitation.
Get him to a doctor to find out if it's something to worry about. If it's something contagious, you don't want to contract it too. If it's something serious, you and the doctor could be saving his life. If it's a matter of what soap and toothpaste to use or genetics and hygiene, the doctor can help you with that or refer him.
When my husband's breath stinks, I can make him rinse or clean his mouth. When his feet stink, I complain, and he buys new shoes or does something about it. His socks stink really bad sometimes because he gets really sweaty in them. His socks have been so strong that they have nearly knocked me out and made me gag just to pick them up so they can be bleach washed.

Be honest with your husband. If you cannot tell him this...you may get into a bad habit. He might be grateful that you informed him. If you can smell his bad breath and feet then so can others. You're supposed to be married to your best friend.

Now this is really weird and bad and uncommen and embarrassing for him.
if it is matter of bad smell from feet. it can be somehow controlled (put shoes on, change sox often........... 2 - 3 times a day..... but he can really be humiliated publicaly if it is coming from his mouth.........no body would like to talk to him.
You really need to communicate all this to your husband.
I would better find a solution for the problem than wondering how this happened.....

For the footsies, get him to change his socks daily shower daily with antibacterial soap, and use odor-eaters in his shoes or something like that.
For the mouth, brush the teeth twice a day and gargle mouthwash daily. If it persists see a dentist. Also, don't let him drink champagne out of anyone's slippers. It's really gross.

The same bacteria?
when people go through puberty they begin secreting oil from their sebacious glands and when this is broken down by bacteria, this is known as BO.
I don't know, but I think he should drink more water, less coffee and cut down on things like garlic.
Also he should sweat more and shower more often.

It's likely he considers his teeth to serve as toenail clippers. Men are on their best behavior when courting you, but the majority of them turn into pigs after they get comfortable (and so do we, actually. I am guessing you have passed wind very loudly in his presence by now). If you ask him to brush his teeth and shower before "getting down", I'm sure he will comply. There's really little else you can do. You've got to love them, stanky feet and all.

well if his feet stink maybe because of hard work (sweat)but his breath ummm..... alittle different story maybe if you don't wanna tell him try and buy mouth wash and put it in the bathroom like it's really for you it only common nature that he'll use it or maybe if that doesn't work you'll have to build the courage to tell him
