This is my personal experience, I am a student at a local university, for some reason there seems to be a lot of females converting to islam in my college and they are extremely devout, wearing hijab etc. Anyway two of the ladies who converted told me point blankly that Homosexuals are disgrace to society and they need to be given the death penalty. What is even disturbing is they are White all American females.
Also when the Muslim Student Association was protesting the Jewish occupation of Palestine as part of a debate with Jewish hillel and Jews for Israel in campus I noticed members of LGBT siding and protesting along with Muslim Student Association members. This I thought was disturbing because Israel is only country in the middle east that supports the rights of Gays and Lesbians. Islamic countries give the death penalty, let alone grant rights to LGBT. So why do Gays align with Muslims in America?. I am a hindu I have no vested interest in Israel or the muslims just a question.

First of all to Muslims living under the Shariah law is a must if one is a true Mulslim. So I don't get it. Very illogical don't you think.

all religion would abolish homosexuality if it were possible but those breeders keep making more of us anyway.

if we all died tomorrow there would be more born the very next day.

Hitler put the pink triangles on us in the 1940's. He would have wiped us out along with the Jews and blacks but he couldn't

the thing about that kind of hatred is that once you are exposed to it you see it for what it is . PURE IGNORANCE.

Islam doesn't stand for that even if the sacred text says it somewhere. the sacred text of the catholics and Jews says a lot of things that we don't adhere to today.

Good Muslims want peace and harmony just like the good people of other religions

If I were in serious trouble and needed some help I would go into a temple or synagogue or mosque before asking an average joe on the street because religious people are good people.

They cant be blamed for the actions of their tyranical leadership. That's the idea behind introducing freedom to some of those countries

the freaky fundamentalists are the ones shouting their religion in Y/A or in the marching in the street instead of quietly and reverently praying in their proper house of worship

We have to stand up against hatred even if some of the people we stand for have beliefs different to ours. We are fighting for their RIGHT to have those beliefs in the first place not the content.

Also part of being a good citizen is not provoking your neighbors. when you know someone is religious then you SHOULD be able to GUESS that your sexuality is of no interest to them so keep it to yourself. no-one needs to know what you do behind closed doors. its a different story if they ask but the faithful ones usually won't cross that line.

One day the Muslim religion will implode and religion in general will be considered archaic, partially as a result of the ignorance associated with such a fundamental and extreme religion in the current explosion of intellect in the world.
I think in answer to your question however, people who are oppressed in some way feel a bit of pain when they perceive another having a similar experience. Simple empathy.
Too bad the ones siding with the Muslim students don't do a little more homework.
Freedom of religion is a fundamental right in the US and that is good, all things come out in the wash and evolve...especially religion.

You can't accurately use blanket statements like "Muslims want homosexuals killed" any more than you can use them about Christians.

Both are extremely large, ancient, and widely varied religions. Honestly, I think if an alien were to land on earth tomorrow and tried to understand the difference between Islam and Christianity, they would have a hard time of it. All the Abrahamic religions are so closely related that to an outsider they could look all but interchangeable.

And there are many Christian countries that still subject gay people to harsh punishments, Christian communities that excercise the violent "justice" of lynch law against gay people, and a terrifyingly large percentage of American Christians advocating for gay people to be regarded as criminals, abominations and sexual deviants, or even justifying (or actively calling for) violent attacks.

It would be extremely hypocritical to justify and understand worldwide Christianity in all its variations as problematic but not intrinsically evil, without extending the same understanding to Islam.

Right now in the US, Islam is being treated as dangerous, if not outright evil. This is an injustice. A disproportionate number of gay people in the US are on the far left side of the political spectrum, and see in the mistreatment of Muslims a similar case of an unjustly persecuted group. Defence of and support for Muslim people doesn't require that one necessarily agree with or support everything said or done in the name of Islam.

Because it's popular to support whatever isn't popular. This is the new mainstream - has nothing to do with intelligent thinking but rather it's the new herd mentality and nobody said if you're in university, you're smart. Perhaps they need some more history lessons. Reminds me of Germany, pre-WWII.

there is no clear law about sodomizes in quran. some scholars think they should be hit, others say they should be killed, but most Muslim countries do not apply this. so there is nothing certain. the only sure thing is that sodomizing shouldn't be encouraged, and it's best to do it without violence by a good advice.

It is false to say Muslims want homosexuals killed. Any Muslim who says this cannot attribute it to Islam. Homosexuality is a major sin just like adultery. In fact being a homosexual does not exclude one from even being Muslim, but rather it is a heinous sin which has negative affects on human society like alcoholism and stealing. Whenever someone tells you about Islam they must have some proof for their statements. If you would like to learn about Islam click on the links below. It is actually forbidden to murder anyone in Islam Muslim or non-Muslims homosexual or otherwise. "And do not kill a person whom Allah has declared unlawful except with due right." Allah has commanded this in the Quran that was a translation 6:151. And there is a severe punishment for disobeying this: "And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell to abide therein, and the wrath and the curse of Allah are upon him, and a great punishment is prepared for him." 4:93 Notice this verse mentions killing a believer, because a believer may be a homosexual notice that this verse does not conditionally exclude any type of believer whether sinner or not. So, if someone was to kill a homosexual Muslim it would be a grave sin and that is the proof. It is important to differentiate the actions of those who uphold the law and its legislated punishments in an Islamic state as opposed to vigilantes. For example the punishment for drinking alcohol by a Muslim at one time in Islamic history was lashes, this did not occur unless there was proof of this action and it was well know that this was the punishment. This does not mean a Muslim can lash another Muslim just because he caught his brother drinking, etc.

You do not understand Islam. The radical elements are not the whole. You also do not understand the plight of Palestinians but maybe you ought to talk to the "green ribbon" Jews and find out about the Israeli destruction of olive trees.
Human rights are human rights and sometimes we all have to think harder about what the issues really are.
Stay away from generalities. If you are a university student this is a time to open your mind and not close it. You may not have a vested interest, but your question is the kind that keeps hatred alive.

I support the rights of anyone to express their freedom. This includes all religions...as long as this expression does not infringe upon my right to do the same.

Gays support Islam in America because they know that Islam is complete and genuine religion given by God with a life guide called holy Qur'an.Islam is a peaceful and loveful and also logic religion.Islam gives same right to women and men.but muslims should give more respect to women.Islam is a democratic religion. All humans are the same in the eyes of God.The difference lies on someone's good doings.
In the holy Qur'an Surah 7 Al A'raaf verse 80 Luth prophet said that homosexsuality and lesbianity are prohibited and hated by God.
Man loved man and woman loved woman is the act that is beyond the God's willingness..God created man for woman and woman for man.In verse 83 God saved Luth prophet and his loyal followers and killed all mohosexulists and lesbianists included his wife and in Verse 84 God dropped stone rain for killing the sinners. But God did not instructed muslims to kill the homosexualists and lesbianists.
They should know the warning from God that lesbianism and homosexualism are against with the God's law. They should aware also that their acts will get great sins because hated by God and they will get HIV/AID disease which is difficult to be cured.
