Saw this long ago when I was young -- circa 1970. A prince is sent to retrieve a key (or some small object). It is inside a seaside tower; no doors, no windows, just open above. An evil prince helps him get it. Somehow he makes a fake copy of the key. Back at the court, the true key is revealed by weighing both. Anyone know this movie?

The movie you want is called, "Kingdom in The Clouds". It originally dates back to 1968, from Romania, but re-released in '74 by Paramount. Here's a link where you can read the complete synopsis, along with pictures. It appears it may still be available for purchase.
