The awareness of life and how things are connected. Sincronisity. Has allowed me to be aware of the Feng Shuei of life... how energy flows & how simple things in life, if you notice them can make a difference.
If you're superstisious you're just accepting that the flow of energy with objects or actions can effect you on some level.
Which superstisions? Well stepping on a crack and general stupid ones aren't my style. I'm consious of numbers... the time 4:44 always jumps out at me, and if not as a time as the price of fruit/veg, generally 444 follows me around. The date - if its the 6th of the 7th of 2008, or the 07/07/07 .... you'll know that number sequence wll NEVER happen again so I notice it & it makes time and your part of it more worth while. I don't open an umbrella inside. I don't put mirrors opposite a door. I hang pictures just that little bit crooked so the bad things that sit on the frames all slide off. I don't put new shoes on a table, or have shoes sit anywhere higher than the floor. I knock on wood so things don't happen. I throw salt over my left shoulder if I spill it.

I guess I am a little superstitious! I don't like it if a black cat crosses my path. I won't walk under a ladder. I knock on wood when I say something like, I am glad I haven't had that problem (knock on wood) this is supposed to make sure you are not jinxing yourself I guess! I really don't get upset if I break a mirror, for I don't believe it will give you 7yrs bad luck, I just hate to clean up the glass and pick it out of my feet for weeks to come! I think we become superstitious, if we are, because of how we were raised and were taught these superstitions as a child whether by fun, or a lesson teacher, or to keep us safe etc..
I think it is fun to be a little superstitious, it makes life a little more interesting! We just can't take it to extremes, because our minds can create the bad results of superstitious things. Everything bad that happens, we can't blame on Friday the 13th, or the mirror we broke yesterday, or etc... Bad things, unlucky things just happen and that is all there is to it. Being superstitious can be fun and really make Halloween a Scream!

I believe it brings 7 years bad luck if you break a mirror. I have broken several mirrors, and my entire life so far has been filled with bad luck. When people refer to me they say, " worst case scenario will happen to me". The sad part is it is true. I've drown, been hit by a car, fell from the zipper at the fair, was a teenage mother, went through a five year battle in the workplace, where I was harassed and conspired against, during which time my father was dying of cancer, and recently discovered my 16 year old daughter is pregnant. Nothing I have ever done has reflected upon me in a positive way. I am now a manic depressive on disability. I suppose things could get worse, I just don't like to think about it.

I am mildly superstitious just because I am normally not, but everybody else have a few superstitions. Therefore, to blend in and be "normal" , I must adopt a couple of them.
Friday the 13th is one . Looking at the full moon and predicting we will be busy at work. Throwing salt over my soulder if I spilled the salt container.
Saying "bless you" when someone sneezes, knocking on wood if I hope for very good outcomes for someone going into competition.

I believe driving a vehicle with a light bar across the top, or wearing a black uniform invites evil into the person inside.
I believe political elections usually portend ill fortune for the citizenry.
I believe eating the seed corn portends a bad crop next year.

when the government holds drills! like they are holding a disaster drill to prepare for a nuclear attack now! i seem to recall them holding a drill to prepare for a major hurricane hitting new Orleans just before it actually happened! but of course when it did happen they did nothing! and before that i seem to recall them holding a drill for a terrorist attack against the wtc just before it happened and when it was about to really happen they did nothing! synchronicity?! or conspiracy!

Hmm.. would it count if I told you that I feel slightly uncomfortable around black cats? I don't really think they're bad luck... they're just... creepy to me. I don't know..
Kittens though are different but you know they can't stay young forever.
