I'm having a brain fart, and can't find the answer in any of my textbooks!

√(3 - x²) × √(3 - x²) = 3 - x²

Yep. This doesn't:

√(3 - x²) × √(3 + x²) ≠ 3 - x²

(√(3 - x^2))^2 = 3 - x^2

sqrt(3 - x^2) * sqrt(3 - x^2) = 3 - x^2
