Listen Salah, i m a home sick too..
but to tell you the truth, the place here is aweful to live in, and it's getting worse, i had thought of what you are thinking too many times, but i am the only son of my parents and i think they need me around.
so..if you don't have solid reasons (besides home sickness) that can make you stay, then go..
think of the quality of life you'll provide to your children, besides you are not too far away from home afterall.
If you don't have a very good rewarding job here in Egypt, then go..
Don't say no to an opportunity like that, you may regret it, besides who knows what will be tomorrow!? The situation here is not encouraging
I am working here in a respectable industry with good money but i am afraid of tomorrow you know, the state is collapsing, i may find the money i am earning every month, becomes in some black day, as good as toilet paper, if you know what i mean..
so i advise you not to let the opportunity go..
And good luck man..

Hello Salah,
You ve been given some great answers here, i have been living in UAE the past year, so yr dilemma is still fresh in my mind.
I can only assure u of this, things will be much easier for u and yr family if u are all together in Dubai. I am sure as a father u want to provide for yr family a good quality of life, i don't mean only money-wise but in terms of a better education, health care, even everyday living. Also, u have to consider the fact that u r learning more by being around many cultures and new experiences that will add to yr expertise and knowledge.
It is a huge step, pray estekharah and may Allah (swt) guide u to what is good for u and yr family.
Finally, why don't u try it for a year or two and if u can't go through with it come back. Afterall, Dubai is only a 4 hour flight away from Egypt, nearer than Sharm or Hurghada if u r driving.

I've been in Dubai almost 2 years
before I came here I was in a good job in Egypt I earned around 5000 LE / Month but it wasn't a permanent job, but I didn't care that much as I had every thing in Egypt (apartment , car, wife, good living standards) so I wasn't very much tempted to live Egypt
But I came here just for curiosity to see what's the deal with UAE?
to tell you the truth, the 1st year was very hard in terms of financial conditions as I got may wife & kid with me after couple of months & also the Home sickness & all the things I'm sure you have an idea about it
But now it's getting much better, there are millions of oppertunities in this country, you can easily develop your self & get the best of it.
I'm telling you ,you can live your dreams here & have a very good life for you & your family.
you need to be patient & behave your self & beleive that only Allah will help you here
Pray estekharaa & Go for it . inshaa Allah it will be a good chance
you can email me if you need any details for living here.

Yes, this is a huge decision for you to make so it's just right for you to include your family in your decision-making. Moving to another place is such a scary thing to do, better yet, moving to another country! I can totally relate to your situation. I moved to Canada 12 years ago from the Philippines because it being a Third World country, I know that my kids will have better future living abroad. Stress, anxiety, nervousness, listlessness...name all the negative feelings you could name, I have experienced that while trying to decide if I should leave my country or not.
Are you sure though that you'll be able to take your family with you in UAE? I suggest that you weigh things out. What are the pros and cons of leaving Egypt and start a new life in Dubai?
Homesickness will always be a part of being away from your home country regardless if your entire family is with you or not. There is truly no place like home.
I wish you goodluck...

I can tell you the part I know much , health care , if you wanted me to recommend a doctor here for any thing I may recommend one or two in a big town like Cairo , the system suck , and I can't trust most doctors here , while in Dubai you have , a very good system , and an income that will cover all of Ur requirements , stay at Dubai , don't come back unless in vacations .

If it is a good, dignified and rewarding position then take it.
As Kalooka said, things here in Egypt are not the best there is at the moment and a good opportunity is a good opportunity regardless of its place.
The first few months are always the most difficult, but then homesikness fades away in the background with the hussle of work and life. I know this because I've lived the experience many time...
But again you are the only judge of your life here in Egypt and you are the only one who can weight the pros and the cons. Just think about it in a rational way, without emotions, and twakal 3alla Allah.

making your career is more important at this stage of your life
because the more successful/setteled u are in ur career the more happy life u can afford for ur family...
remember one has to loose something to gain something bigger...
so
try to live without ur family and work hard then within next few years u can cal ur famly with u...
next option is to look for a better job in Egypt on the basis of ur current job experience
good luck...

Most of Egyptian families don't want to leave Egypt, but you can decide to keep your family with you on partial basis, like in summer vacation they can visit you for two and half months and in December you may go on your yearly vacation for one month.

Salah ............ I'm in a dilemma ............ really :-(
I know that home sickness is unbearable, but after all you have a family to which you have to earn a living .
and here in Egypt income is not satisfactory at all except in rare cases.
so,sadly,i advice you to stay in Dubai and visit Egypt in vacations ........
Tell you what, Salah, personally, my father once got the chance to work in Saudi Arabia, but he declined coz of us-his family- and my mom also encouraged him not to go ......... you know coz of being a one whole family ............ it's important of course ....... but we come to regret it now coz if he have thought seriously,we could have joined him there later , but he also was sooooooooooooooooooooo afraid of home sickness.
that's why i tell you to stay and earn a good living for the sake of your family ................
after all it's LIFE !!! so one has to choose the less risky way
for me,being in Egypt is more risky than staying in Dubai
BTW,Salah, thanks soooooooo much for your defending me.
May Allah guide, bless and protect you and your family.

it's hard to me to write and tell you it's better Brother to stay your coming years inshaa Allah in UAE :-(
but when we regard your job and family here, then they deserve to be in a better situation if it's in your ability.......... if you find that settling in UAE will achieve inshaa Allah your dreams and provide a good respectable living to you and your family........... then do it dude.
always remember Brother, that all are Allah's lands, sure we have our country and our loyalty to it as well as sickness, but still you have to seek the better work and living if the chance is available.......... and it appears to be, so don't miss it.
i just want to tell you that i'm avoiding my tears to run down while writing this message.............. because i always hate that my siblings leave this beautiful Egypt and leave me, to travel and earn a life in another country......... but this is life :-(
hope you all success and my love to you and your family :'-)
but please, at least Salah, communicate with us here in YA!............ please!!
