My employer has decided to remodel. I am without income for a month. Should I get paid anything?

I was wondering if there are any laws or regulations regarding my question. The remodeling is estimated to take a month which means I will be without income! Are there any laws regarding this?

You should be eligible for unemployment during that period at it can be considered a layoff.

You are eligible for unemployment during this period. I think you had to have been working at this job for 6 month or more, not sure.
