I found out I sure could!
When I moved the first time - my 'material possessions'
filled the biggest rental truck I could get.
The next time I just left with what would fit into my car
and bought clothes and used furniture and it was the most freeing experience I have ever had in my whole life!

I have been living very simply, out of necessity, for the last few years and have often thought that if I didn't have "things" I could just wing it and go where life leads me. I have figured out that you can do without possessions, without a home, even, and still thrive. You can still have friends and love and laugh and share, all without designer *this, and name-brand *that. I drive a $500 car named "Crash" that my kids are proud to be hauled around in - oops! I could not do without my car. That's it. Everything else could go.

no not really i think material possessions have affected people on what they prefer more their parents or tv ... cell phone or pets ... you see most people would pick tv and phone but still i cant live without my nintendo ds
