97% of us attack each other over what 3% of us decide and control!

I think it's time we take the youtube debates to another even higher platform and have actual virtual 'townhall' meetings bimonthly for the states and monthly for the Nation and call out criminal behavior where it lies!

This is just for starters.

It seems quite apparent that we need to treat these governmental leaders like willful teenagers and call them to task!

Agreed?

Kelly B--I find myself in agreement with you once again. I recently posted a Q regarding an article I read in it, the author points out that it is the wealthy elite who are trying to keep us divided,in an attempt to conquer us, (We The People), to maintain power. I've seen many of us passionately divided on many things, but we did come out of our respective boxes to rally against illegal immigration. None of the great moral issues of the day have ever been voted on by "we the people". The elitists have used the courts to ram a new America down our throats. If our elected officials really want to represent our values, why don’t they let us determine what those values are by referendum? They certainly aren't listening to us. I think a virtual town meeting where "we the people" could actually have a voice--and have that voice be heard is an awesome idea!

I know France is a dirty word in this country for some stupid reason, but look at how their citizens fight what they don't like in their government. They protest...ALL THE TIME. Americans are either too apathetic or too disenchanted to take action themselves. Look at these answers. It's like everyone's waiting for the right group to join. Just go out and speak your mind. If no one hears you, then get a megaphone. I like your premise. The government should be frightened of angering the public, not the other way around. I just think people need to take more personal responsibility, and quit acting like change is some far off unreachable concept.

This is true. It sounds like you've got some good ideas. But I think each person needs to admit at least to themselves that it exists on both sides of the aisle and that overlooking it is hurting all of us. After that point, we could go after any and all leaders with criminal behavior and stop being enablers.

I agree. But cons never seem to give friendship a try. Whenever I write even thought provoking write-ups, they gimme a thumbs down. Its a different thing that I don't give a fcuk to their thumbs down. But their anti-liberal tirade shows how much "efforts" they take to "adjust" according to situations.

I don't say that this is a one-lane highway. But the government uses our constant in-fighting to their best advantage. Since they know that decisions taken by either the Dems or Cons while lead to a severe backlash from the 2 sects, they beat around the bush and take undue advantage of their position in the Congress and screw the nation up, big time.

I hope someday, the Dems and Cons will be on the same side and then, lets see how far the corruption continues !

You are right. Actually, with the power of the internet, we have given more power for people to make their opinions known. That is why I like Y/A. There are always a few clowns here, but people with different opinions from your own forces you to think.

We need to call our law makers to account for mispent treasury and for decisions that have hurt our national security.

Yes, Kelly, this is one thing I can agree with! And our first order of business should be to pass term limits. Some of those people have been sitting there for over 40 yrs!

Stop it already with this common sense approach to a better government.
You know full well:
"In a democracy, the people always get the government they deserve."
As long as Hollywood Insider gets a bigger share of the audience than the presidential debates - we will have the government we deserve.

I am game but I want to demand less from them, to reduce the size and expense, to give back to the states the issues that rightly by the constitution what belongs at the state level.

Now that suggestion is pretty good . A compromise of the left's street protests and the right's vote protests . You guys could learn a thing or two from us and we could learn a thing or two from you .
Us righties always show our disdain with our votes , but I would like to see us more vocal nowadays .

Unfortunately, the powers that be have the experience, cunning, and will to manipulate the masses into complete subjection.

I'd be the first to join a group that only wanted the truth.
