depends if you owed money on the other one.
Most banks use Chexsystems which only keep records for 3yrs. I would recommend to go try, and they will certainly tell you immediately.

pull and review your credit report from all 3 major agencies. If your old bank record still appears there, follow the instructions that came with the reports to request the report be removed due to 7 year stat of limitations. (there can't have been any $ activity on the account in those 7 years). Then go for it once they are removed. Be sure and save the deletion confirmations FOREVER in case they pop back up.
