well last year i saw on the news some kids playing the "black out" game and that was basically them putting you in the sleeper hold and one kid died..Like he passed out and they tried to get him back but his lungs shut down so i wouldn't doubt it

Yes, it's true. The build up of CO2 will trigger the breathing reflex even if you have the extraordinary ability to hold your breath until you pass out.

Because if you hold your breath for long enough eventually you will pass out and will not consciously be able to hold your breath anymore. Once you are passed out your body's natural instincts take over (the ones that try and keep you alive) and you start to breath again.

True. You'll pass out first and your lungs will automatically resume breathing.

that is true - if you have strong willpower,you may pass out,but it is a reflex for you to breath - and you will.

I'm sure it is true. Considering how people on suicide watch probably tried and failed. Reflexes are stronger than wills.

i've personally never tried it but i would think that you would just pass out and hopefully when you come around you wouldn't want to try it again.
