Females, do you feel a biological clock inside of you that tells you that you have to settle down and have children? Or is it just a social effect, what society tells you that you have to do, and that it is supposed to be your role in life? I have just never understood why woman are always so eager to have children.

I wanted to have a kid since I was five. Something that was precious to me that couldn't be taken away like my friends. I admit I don't have kids yet at 23. But for some of us women it's a natural urge that comes along with the flow of hormones. I have taken time to not totally settle down till I found just the right mate who would treat me with the respect of a queen. Now that I have that I am more eager to have children. So biological clock that is a yes for serious women. But I have to say it's a hormone thing that is natural and has been since the dawn of time.

i think that women realize they have a limited window in which to produce children, while men can produce children well into old age without any medical intervention (hello, donald trump). while societal expectations may play a role, i do think that the desire to procreate is inbred in all humans, and animals for that matter. otherwise, what motivation would we have to continue our species? i think the only reason women seem to be in a hurry is that as a society we are getting married later and later (well into our 30s) and women are aware that after 35 the likelihood of them getting pregnant drastically decreases. at 35, the likelihood of miscarriage and birth defects drastically increases. also, women are born with the total number of eggs they will ever have. once they run out, menopause starts. men constantly produce new sperm every few days for their entire lives. if a woman faces any physical trauma, she can also incur damage to some eggs. so, i think that women literally DO have a biological clock.

i think that women have a motherly/nurturing instinct that sways us in the direction of procreation. i think sometimes with all the crap women put up with they just want some stability which is where the settling down part comes in. after watching babies on dsc channel or at random i sometimes get the urge to hold a baby but i'm not eager to have any, not yet anyway.

Because man and woman were put on this earth to perpetuate life (procreate). Some women seem more in a rush to have children than men because unlike them after a certain amount of time our ability to become fertile starts to dwindle until its non existent.

Not all women are. I never wanted kids. But accidentally got pregnant. Now that I am in my mid 30's and about to hit the point of no return (reproduction wise) I feel like I should try and squeeze in 1 more kid. Strange huh? Don't worry I'm not doing it! My youngest is going to Kindergarten this year and I'm going to have some fun!

when me and my hubby got married, we talked and decided to have a baby together, and my hubby was eager to have a baby before i was!

i feel though, that if we dont have any more by 30, i will stop.

For me, it was hormones at the moment of conception saying "take me... I'm all yours... whatever happens happens... I can't get enough of you..."
And then BAM, I was pregnant. No clocks involved for me.

My clock broke at a very young age!
I don't want children! Have you seen the world lately? I really, really don't want to throw anymore babies into this nasty place!
