I said some things to a very precious friend of mine. What can I do or say to let him know, that I truely am sorry. I would lay down my life for this guy, and I really hurt him. He has been hurt by someone else, and I was trying to help him, I let the green-eyed monster come out. How can I let him know that I really truely wish I could take the hurt back. You see, I love him, but he doesn't love me the same way. No, I am not some starry-eyed teenager, I am in my 50's.

sharpeilvr, I have appologized, and I have told him that I love him. He is in love with someone else, that don't love him the way he loves her, and she has hurt him terribly, that is why it bothers me so much, that I hurt him too.

Yes I have. A dear friend that has been there for me through the toughest of times. He's more like a brother to me than a friend, and he always stayed my friend after I said that I was sorry.

The only thing you can do is tell him that you realize you hurt him and that's the last thing you'd ever want to do, that you value his friendship more than you can ever express and you'll work on the jealously issue. Curious though, why don't you let him know how you really feel? He very well could feel the same way and not want to tell you because he isn't sure where you stand. If your that good of friends then you should have several things in common and could very possibly make good mates.
If he accepted the appology don't over kill it, I know my husband hates that.

Sounds like the ball is in his court now sweetie. Time will tell if and when. Just try to stay in contact with him or let him contact you. I know this feeling all to well lately. Just try not to crowd him to much.

I think everyone has. I've hurt people I love and I've hurt people who loved me (but I didn't love).

You can only say 'I'm sorry' and explain your position. You can't make him/her accept it, but at least you will be honest. Let the chips fall where they may and move on.
