why does it show the speed, then the "mlb speed"? what does that mean and how do they calculate what the mlb speed would be? ex: 71 mph=90 mph mlb?

its showing the reaction time between little league distance and MLB distance. it would take the same reaction time to hit a 69 mph pitch from 46 feet and a 90 mph pitch from 60 1/2 feet.

Its just the equivalent of reaction times from the MLB mound to the LL mound. The way to calculate it is to take the speed and the LL distance of 45 feet and multiply it by 1.3.
71 x 1.3=91 mph.

based on the fact that the little leagues throw from something like 45 feet away not 66 I couldn't tell the math formula behind it

They calculate it based on the time it takes the pitch to reach the plate.

i think its to show how fast they would throw when they make it to the majors

they are just exagerrating the speed this year
