for example, aptitude tests don't tell you that you are a really good doctor or coach, but that you have the potential to be a good doctor, coach, etc.

Aptitude is a mental ability to grasp /understand a subject /skill quickly & apply in real life situation.
Mathematical ability, Arithmetical ability, Marketing skill,managerial ability, reasoning ability, drawing skills etc; requires aptitude to learn & apply.
