I mean personally I would rather see him back on the football field. Yes he made a big mistake and I am a dog lovers also. But the guy has admitted guilt and apologized. Lets have him suspended from the league for a year and back on the filed next season. He is no danger to society, he could do community service and influence the youth. I'm talking 60 days in jail maximum, minimum 12 days.

You guys are to vindictive, I am not sure if any of you have been in there like me but it is no joke and 60 days in there would be like 5 years.

all you people are nuts, you are like the people in the Middle Ages standing around the guillitine cheering and watching people get executed, yelling "off with their heads". I supposed none of you have never done anything stupid.

Are you kidding me? Not only was he involved in illegal dogfighting, he was involved in illegal gambling which could get him up to 5 years in the joint. The judge in this case is a hard *** and is gonna prosecute Vick as hard as possible. Even if Vick is in the slammer for a couple years his NFL career would be over. Not only would he being convicted on the gambling charges be reason for him to be banned from the NFL, but unless the prison Vick is at has a high tech workout room, Vick will be no where near physically ready to play in the NFL when he does get out of jail.

It depends on how much snitching Vick can do on other dog-fighting/gambling rings. Vick has admitted that he funded the gambling, which to the NFL Commish (and any other sane person) is the same as gambling itself. I think his plea bargain backfired because of that. Smart people are not going to forget that Vick lied every step of the way until he could lie no more. That will way heavily against him also. Then there is the state charges looming also. No doubt the Feds feel that local authorities were protecting for years. They either have to file charges, or the Feds may file charges against THEM! These thug junkies who think Vick will play again in the NFL are kidding themselves!

You are joking - right? Vick was about to be indicted for the RICO act - the same thing they give the Mafia for conducting an on-going criminal organization! He bought secluded land, a house, a kennel, and dogs for the sole purpose of dog fighting and gambling on dog fighting - maybe even his cousin's drug sales. That is John Gotti type stuff there! To get off with a couple of years in jail and a lifetime ban from the NFL is a gift to him!

You must be black to make such a statement in favor of this evil person. He had to admit his quilt.he is sorry he was caught do you actually think he cares about those animals, and how the heck can he be a good influence on kids prove to them if you do the crime you serve the time and that white joker who is involved in the gambling needs to go to jail right along with Vick

Yes, he should get jail time. Racketeering, gambling, and animal cruelty all are pretty serious crimes. Is he a rapist, thief, murderer, no he is obviously not a danger or threat to other people or society. And I don't think he deserves some god awful amount of jail time, but he does deserve everything he gets whether it be 5 months in jail or 5 years!

I don't like dogs or vick but if you do the crime you have to do the time, if a rapist says he is sorry and admits guilt should we say oh that's o.k. just do some community service and don't do it again, now go back to work. how about a shop lifter they are no real threat to society, so should we just let them go as well? Come on I know it's tough when the qb of your favorite team F's up so bad that he has to go to jail, but that's the law and that's the way our country works

Yes he should get jail time. Furthermore, he should be kicked out of the NFL for good. These guys are supposed to be role models for our nation's youth. How did he accomplish that? By fighting dogs, executing dogs, and gambling. Just what our children need to learn. As a father, I don't want my children associated with anyone who is not a good role model. He is a terrific athlete. There is no argument there. However, just because he is an athlete, does not make him above the law. I am sick and tired of those with celebrity status having a free pass to just do as they please. I hope the law hits him hard, and I hope Goodell hits him even harder with a lifelong ban from the NFL.

If you were talking only about the cruelty to animals charges I might agree but what will end his NFL career and send him to prison for a year at least, maybe more, are the federal gambling and racketeering charges (a federal RICO law violation). Bottom line is jail time or not for Vick his NFL career is finished.

In regard to the last detail you have added to your questions:

Oh, buddy, you don't know how stupid this comment is do you? You left yourself open for this:

Middle ages huh? What about standing around for 5 years starving dogs, torturing dogs, abusing dogs, fighting dogs, and EXECUTING dogs who lost the fights? Use your head dumbass, this sound much more like the middle ages than the majority of people today who want to see Michael Vick suffer the same atrocities he dished out to 100's maybe 1000's of inncent animals, utitlizing the worse possible methods imaginable. I mean, if he hadn't come up with these methods, maybe we wouldn't have thought of them. He set the bar. Don't give me the whiny crap about but he is a human being---Uhhh that's really debatable at this point. I don't think Michael Vick is as good as ONE of the dogs he drowned, electrocuted, or hung.

He deserves everything he gets== and more--- he had no mercy for these innocent animals, I'm not going to have mercy for the guilty animal--Michael Vick---
