Were 100's or 1000's of dogs getting a fair shake from Michael Vick for the last 5 years?

Your sympathy is misplaced. If you don't care about the suffering and horrible abuse of these animals then maybe you should consider that dogs that have been trained to be killers have been known to escape captivity and kill small children and adults. Would you feel a little different about Michael Vick if one of his killing machines that he and his cohorts had starved, abused, tortured and trained to be the way he is, got a lock-jaw on one of your children or on you?

If you don't have empathy for animals who you must deem to be 'below' you. therefore not worthy of protection, maybe I can appeal to your selfish side and ask you to consider the risk to you and yours that fighting animals like Michael Vick's dogs can create for humans--including you and yours--

Even if he is being steamrolled, that is the price he is paying. It was his decision every step of the way, all the way from committing the crimes to pleading guilty. He rolled the dice by involving himself in this lifestyle, and being famous only increased the chances he would get steamrolled. He rolled the dice and lost.

No doubt the prosecution team wants to set an example. He is facing FELONY charges. Had you or I done this no such deal would be available. Yes. He made a plea deal. But the judge can and probably will give him 5 years. I have said it a million times. Its dogfighting PLUS gambling across interstate lines. He can only hope the State of Virginia doesnt hammer him as well

a fair shake? yes, fairer than any average American would get.
is media steamrolling him? yes, he's a major news story during a slow news period.
to make an example out of him? no why him?

if Leonard little served 8 months for killing a woman, anything more than that for Vick would be excessive

if anyone is "steam rolling" him it is his "homies" you know those great guys that he set up in houses and put on his pay roll to "take care" of his house and kennels.they never had to work because vick was making the big bucks and now the or rolling on him like bitches. And face facts if you do the crime you do the time, this is America and the laws are on the books.

Vick deserves a lot of jail time! I HOPE a severe punishment he gets makes an example out of him! He deserves it, and maybe then the whole hip hop culture can see that you can't just do whatever you want, and NOTHING is owed you except basic human rights.

P.S. You make good comments, Stonewall.

It seems like he has gotten a better than fair shake. He was going to be indicted on the RICO act for on-going criminal activity. That carries 20 year sentences. To get away with a couple of years is very lenient. He should be whiping the sweat off his forehead about now.

A fair shake? He has pleaded guilty to all charges. The animal cruelty is the least of his worries. The federal gambling charges (RICO law violations) is what will end his NFL career and send him to prison for at least a year, maybe longer.

The news media is telling it, like it is. He is just a crooked black man, (are there any other kind.???), and he should serve out his punishment. He should get at least 20 years, if not more.

Since you are a female, you need to stand up even higher against violent men. These men that torture animals are also cruel husbands and fathers. I hope you get yourself straight before you end up in a field somewhere because you accept this behavior.
