I have a virus/spyware/adware/trojan somewhere, and as I've been trying to look for it to fix it I obviously head over to "safe mode," the screen shows no icons. My arrow still works (actually, the last time I tried it, it froze completely after a while), but there is nothing to click on and I end up having to just restart again in normal mode.
Does anyone know how to fix my "safe mode" so I can go in and look for the virus? This is really starting to frustrate me. A lot. Thanks.

If You Able To Log In At All Hit CTRL + ALT +DEL Open The Task Manager Then Go To File And Click New Task And Type In Explorer. That Will Bring Up The Start Menu And Desktop Icons If There Not Already There. You Can Message Me If You Like I'm On Yahoo Messenger Every Now And Then.

I had the same problem since July 18, 2007. Was unable to open my safe mode, or perform a file/folder HDD check for errors.

I was already at August 16, and the only way I was able to resolve the problem was by performing a system restore.. (Lucky, because one of the restore dates was July 18, and I was able to perform a system restore.

The problem was isolated to a xray, that I download for review and the transfer of the xray picked up a bad code.

Hope a system restore will work for you.
