some yes and some no.
many were socialists not communists. I don't think god is interested in the economy. definatly against companies stealing or hurting people, but not the way its set up.
obviously god would prefer people to not believe in other god, but that doesn't mean they were disliked
god might not be happy about the sexual freedom, but understand where the idea came from and the fact that after the '40s and '50s some people would go a bit crazy with freedom. god may not have cared if children were born out of wedlock if the parents were committed to each other.
sometimes I wonder if god is so uptight about sex and marriage. I'm not sure.
god probably doesn't have too much of a problem with drugs. the plants that cause people to get high are natural and not man made.
many christians do not promote peace and understanding. its funny how non-believers and people who live on the out skirts of religion actually follow parts of the doctine more closely than the 'devout'.
I consider myself a modern hippie. I'm pretty sure god likes me.

What a funny question. Oh well, what the heck: The Old Testament God was a Bully, that I liken to a wife beater. He was abusive and selfish. The New Testament (the new covenant) God was forgiving, sharing, peaceful and loving and promoted peace, feeding the poor and sick. I think Christ would have liked the Hippies. He'd be lighting up a spleef instead of drinking wine after a day of feeding the poor and healing the sick. After all, his best friend and confidant was a prostitute.
I think God or Jesus would be more angry with the corporations and the selfishness of the rich these days. After all, it is easier to put a camel through an eye of a needle than a rich man to go to heaven. When in doubt, consult the Beatitudes.

Since I was around during that time, I can tell you that all hippies did not do massive amounts of drugs, or practice sexual deviancy, or have children out of wedlock. I don't remember any hippies I knew, and I knew scads of them, that were communists. A few pagans here or there. But peace and love? Yeah, real hippies were about that. A lot of them did do drugs, and were sexually "free," but not as many as I think you'd like to believe.
I think God loved them then and loves them now. It's likely he was much more fond of them, during Vietnam for example, than the warmongers who preached about our morals going to hell in a handbasket while they were giving the okay to use Agent Orange.

You do have a way with words. I think there is one God and He comes in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I also like to call Him Creator, Savior and Judge.
I think you can find those concepts consistently running through both the Old and New Testaments.
Jesus a hippie? I don't see any indication that He did anything but fulfill the Old Testament Laws and die to give us Grace. It's free for all, even hippies.

Angelita, are you old enough to have really known any hippies?? I was considered one when I was young, but was not a communist, pagan, sexual deviant, had my daughter well after I was married, and never did any massive amounts of drugs. Yes, God loved us as he loves all his children. There are still communists (God loves them), still pagans (your God is hoping for them), still sexual deviants (God forgives anything), still babies born to unwed mothers (babies are God's gift, aren't they?) and still people who take massive drugs (again, God forgives). You may have your mind made up, but it sounds as though you might want to open it to a fresh interpretation of your God's love.

There are lots of self-described christians who do not practice humility, charity, compassion or any of the other things that christianity teaches, and there are lots of athiest and agnostics who do practice all of these things because it is the right thing to do as one human to another, rather than because they expect some eternal reward. I don't believe in god, but I do believe that if he does exist, he will recognize that calling one's self a christian but not following any of the things that Jesus is credited with teaching is a very poor way to express one's faith in Christ. I mean, most of the politicians and business leaders in the United States are self-described christians, but never-ending war, giving tax breaks to the incredibly wealthy leaving the worse-off people to fend for themselves and polluting the planet in the name of profit are not christian virtues.
Your question makes no sense anyway, since it implies that hippies no longer exist.

Of course he did...we were all about LOVE, man!! And we were not communists, pagans, sexual deviants and did not do massive amounts of drugs. Not all of us. Just like today, there are extremists and their are those who embrace a culture but don't get extreme about it. Most of us were just about Love and Peace. That's all we wanted.

God is a hippie...actually in "Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy" God's bird is actually in charge, because God has a memory only a day long and starts over from scratch everyday. He wakes up and everything is new to him...
I was going to be a hippie...I am old enough...but it takes a lot of committment to be something and my heart wasn't in it...because I thought I would be dead in Vietnam before I would have seen any hippie development...but then i didn't get drafted and went to college instead....sigh...what a waste.

He probably thought that they were lazy.
Proverbs 6:6-11, TLB. "Take a lesson from the ants, you lazy fellow. Learn from their ways and be wise! For though they have no king to make them work, yet they labor hard all summer, gathering food for the winter. But you—all you do is sleep. When will you wake up? 'Let me sleep a little longer!' Sure, just a little more! And as you sleep, poverty creeps upon you like a robber and destroys you; want attacks you in full armor."

Do you assume that God was on vacation or something during the 60s? Didn't know what was going on then, and still doesn't now?
This question doesn't make any sense.
