The traveling Americans you have met are right. Most Americans are anti-Bush and over 50% of them now want impeachment but Pelosi took it off the table. And, over 70% of the American people want out of Iraq as well. Yes, the remaining 30% of Bush supporters tend to be uneducated and overly religious in nature. In fact, they are the far right looney fundies. In fact, Bush has done more damage to this country and it's constitution and it will take decades to repair that damage. The fact is also that the Dem majority in congress are not doing their constitutional job in protecting the country from such demagogary and blatant violations of our Constitution. It is their job to impeach when they see such a blatant violation of the Presidential powers.

First off...watch what you say about so-called "Hillbilly States." Considering you fully admit you've never been to the US I doubt you would even know what a hillbilly really is.
Us hillbillys tend to have mixed emotions about both the war and about the current POTUS. Speaking as a hillbilly, I can honestly say I feel the POTUS is acting on what HE believes is the best course of action for the country. I don't think he has a good handle on what the rest of us think but I don't actually buy into conspiracy theories or the spin of the media either. I don't believe he is the best President we've ever had, but he's far from the worst.
Now what really ticks a lot of hillbillys off is the fact that it's usually hillbilly kids getting killed in Iraq. The coffins come home largely to small town America. I'm not saying urban folk aren't getting killed either, but the impact of a soldier's death has larger reprocussions in a smaller town. Have many of the Americans you've encountered had relatives or friends killed in Iraq?
I, personally, don't want us in Iraq. However, I'm not so dumb to know that if we leave we will have a bigger mess on our hands than we do now. Those who hate the war have no freakin' clue what will happen if we vacate Iraq tomorrow. Furthermore, I absolutely believe that someone has to do something about militant Islam. However the 65% of the population that hates the war actually has bought into the media spin that if we just leave the middle east alone they will leave us alone. People who believe that really need to re-examine their pre-WWII history. Hello Neville Chamberlain! What did THAT get Europe? Oh, yeah....let me remember....V1 rockets streaming down on the English countryside, concentration camps, and and a multi-national war!
Radical Islam has one fundamental flaw that is overlooked by everyone who believes if the west leaves them alone, they will leave the west alone. Islam has not experienced the Enlightenment period that the west did. Islam is essentially socially and philosophically in 14th century europe. They are governed by theology, not by rational thought. The theories of John Locke are as foreign to the current day Islamic fundamentalist as much as the theory of a non-earth centered universe was to a 12th century Pope.
Lastly...I'm sorry you feel "unfortunate" that the hillbilly states have a larger voting block. That obviously means hillbillys are in the majority. Since you seem to not like hillbillys you most likely wouldn't enjoy a trip to the USA so stay the hell home. Oh...and by the way, Clinton was a hillbilly too.
As for you liberals who have answered...you are all a bunch of hypocrites. You all pretend to be open and compassionate, yet you jump at the chance to ridicule southerners and rural folk in general. We don't all listen to talk radio and just spew out whatever Limbaugh and Hannity throw out there. That is such a lib cop out. It's not accurate or original. We're all not driven by the christian right either. I'm freakin' lucky if I make church once a year. So take your stereotypes about conservatives and shove them up your sphincter. I'm no big fan of GWB or the war, but I'm smart enough to know this problem isn't going to go away...and I'm really sick and tired of jackassed liberals painting everyone who doesn't suckle at the teat of Hillary as a narrow minded stooge from the sticks.

I for one find the political state in this country abysmal right now. I don't care for Bush at least on foriegn policy, and i think the Iraq War is the worst mistake a president has made in many, many years. I am in the majority right now as the best polls say in the area of 70% feel the way i do.

Not this one. Bush's horrific policies both hear and abroad has been extremely counter productive for the long term.
As for the "hillbilly states" I assume that must be directed at the southerners. Too many of them don't think independently when it comes to politics. They simply listen to whatever their radio talk show host tells them to think about political issues. They actually believe that a Democratic president will wave a magic wand and make all of their firearms simply disappear. That is, at least, what their talk show messiahs have convinced them of.
The weird thing is this. They claim to be the moral fiber of humanity and despise certain policies. Yet, their two front runners, Giuliani and Romney, have a voting record of standing for the very things their supporters claim they despise in Democrats.

Fortunately, most of the Americans don't agree with current president (hence his approval rating in its teens).
Though, unless its dictatorship, you will always find a dissenting point of view in every country by some of the people --- if only by those who are in opposition and want to come to power :)

Almost. Corporate America has become very powerful and their agenda is in play, not that of the average American. Illegal immigration is rampant, unemployment is high, job loss, foreclosures on homes.Americans are desperate to feel security at home and have lost trust in their government to protect them.

No.
He's a traitor, and should be tried in a court of law for his blatant and flagrant attacks upon the United States Constitution.
When it's his time... he'll rot in Hell.
