Honestly? The Most Uncomfortable?

I played Francis Fryer in a stage production of Calamity Jane.

He is 'hired' by the Saloon owner who believes Francis is actually Frances (a girl). When this man turns up, the owner panics thinking about all the cowboys expecting to see a female performer. Solution, dress Francis up in Drag and hope he convinces the cowboys. It was a real Show-girl gown as well, high-heels and all!

The most uncomfortable thing, once in costume, I was mistaken for a girl by some of the cast!

How embarrassment!

I've played some odd roles (Cherubs - I'm 5'11'' BTW - Dancing Beans, rapid cereal box killers, Foppish English Toffs) but nothing has ever been as uncomfortable as that. Blimey it was cold in that dress.

I once had to do a two person scene with my ex-boyfriend. We were two people who used to date, then found out they got the lead roles in Romeo and Juliet. Its awkward, and we had to kiss.

I was Linda Loman in "Death of a Salesman" and I had to lay in this "bed" with one of my best friend's boyfriend. This bed I speak of was basically a wood table with what seemed to be a white table cloth on it for padding. It wasn't very big and I'm a bigger girl. It was a very awkward situation, that's for sure!

before I really knew what acting was, a director once asked me to "be myself and be charming" I didn't consider myself charming and it threw me.
