I don't know what I am, either strait or bi XD. But I really don't think it has anything to do with genetics, I think someone could be converted by someone else. And early childhood might have an effect. As for me? it would most likely be early childhood experiences if I really am bi. But as I've said, I don't know yet!

That's just my opinion, hating won't change it.

good question I'm straight so I'll just watch

Edit:: a thumbs down for appreciating an interesting question?
Fine I'll give my opinion Homosexuality is not genetic. If it was genetic it would have been breed out of the population by now, Homosexuals breed at such a lesser rate it would have been discarded by now. That being said Hormonal levels also effect the Brain during development which would be a more likely cause. But with that said People certainly could chose or have life events that encourage them to be Homosexual. Finally no matter what the why is, consenting adults have every right to do what ever they want when it causes no harm to others. So many in the "Gay community want so badly for it to be genetic so they can say see I have no control, who cares either way you have the right to love and be with any consenting adult no matter what the reason

There is evidence to show that it may be due to a woman's hormone levels during pregnancy that can possibly determine the sexual orientation of the child. For example, a woman with excess testosterone during a pregnancy with a female baby could (in theory) "turn" the baby bi or lesbian (since she would have more testosterone in her system). Same with estrogen and boys. But it's only a theory.
A part of me believes it could be something you're born with. But another part knows it can be due to experiences. For example, I was abused by other girls when I was really young (long story)...but I consider myself bisexual, because I've always been attracted to women and have had sexual experiences (and enjoy being with a woman intimately, sometimes more than with men). I don't know if I was born this way or if it was because of my childhood experiences. A girl friend I once fooled around with told me I "converted her" and turned her bi (she claimed to have been interested in girls but unsure of how she felt about them)...and since then, I have seen her with women (until now, she's married and monogamous).
So I really don't know, but those are some of my experiences for you.

I think i was born this way. Because from a very early age, i use to tell my parents that i wanted to be a girl and i would have a sex change operation. I played with barbies, all my girl cousins, Barbie was a favorite, hated sports, was very girl, soft voice, long smooth hair, smooth skin, sensitive, shy, creative, and fun.
As i grew up, i still liked what other girls liked, the clothes, colors, guys, and etc... I cannot remember a time where i had chosen to be this way, i always was. As a matter of fact i always knew i was gay, and i tried really hard to change myself but i really couldn't. I wouldn't wanna choose the harder way of life.

If you don't know why, then that is a good indication that you were just made that way. Having said that, if you are still relatively young (under 25, let's say for argument's sake), then you may just be confused about some emotional and physical feelings you have. Honestly, I am totally strait. But, I don't know WHY I am totally strait. That's just my sexual orientation. No one tolde me to be strait or gay. In fact, if someone had told me to be gay, I'd still have turned out strait. So, I really feel that we are how we are made. Some people, due to circumstances and issues, may "try out" another orientation, but I don't think it will last. You just are who you are and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
PS- God does not make mistakes. He made you, He loves you, Christ died for you, and don't let anyone tell you different!

Definitely genetics. I feel this way because I never sat down and said "hmm i want to be gay and not straight". I never experimented with anyone when I was little; however, I wanted to. I kissed a few girls and it never did anything for me. I had my first gay experience when I was 18 and it was by my own choice. I liked it a lot more.

I was just born this way. I remember getting excited at 8 years old over the half naked native women in my Mom's National Geographic mags. At 9 I found her Playgirls and loved them, too. So I think this is just the way I am.

Dunno. I've been trying to puzzle this out for over a decade. It is what it is. I've had no terrible trauma or experimentation. My brother, who is straight, had a very similar childhood to mine.

Definitely biological, but whether genetic, triggered by environment (mom's hormones, chemical, etc) or some mix, who knows.

I was born bi. The same way that straight people are born straight. It's the way God wanted me to be.
