that my last day(on the schedule) was on "Aug 9" so that's the date I put on my letter. I gave my two weeks because i've been hired by another Financial Ins and don't start until the 22nd of Aug. Will I get paid for the two weeks or only the 4 days I worked before the 9th of Aug?

I am only a part-time employee and have taken all my vacations for the year. It has to do with "competition - conflict of interest"

check your employee manual to see what the company's obligations are. You may also be entitled for payment in lieu of leftover vacation time. However, even if you offer to give two weeks notice, the employer is not required to keep you for the full two weeks, and unless otherwise stated in your company policy, you are paid only for the days you actually worked (not the days you would have like to have worked).

You only get paid for what you work. But you did not honestly give a two week notice unless you worked for 2 weeks after the day you gave notice.
