No.

Republicans are not conservatives...that's the problem. Republicans love big government just as much as liberals do. Republicans love spending my money on tanks, guns, bombs, and airplanes we really don't need. Democrats love spending my money on social welfare programs I don't give a flying rip about.

Republicans and Democrats BOTH pass legislation. Mostly uneeded legislation. New laws equal more government. True conservatives don't want more legislation...we want LESS legislation. The current Republicans have created the largest expansion of government in the past 20 years....The Department of Homeland Freakin' Security. If this isn't a Big Brother Socialist Program I really don't know what the heck is!

No Child Left Behind. What's that? A set of policies and procedures mandated by the federal government on individual states and communities. Does that sound conservative? It sounds pretty Stalinistic to me.

Migrant worker policy and alien amnesty? Sounds like liberal globalization to me. Isn't it the left who wants to tear down international borders and focus on "One World" mumbo-jumbo?

And the press calls these people "Neo-Cons". There is NOTHING conservative about these jokers.

Since the GOP is made up of a lot of corporate patsies, they will not put up a candidate who is a conservative. Instead, they will do what they always do. They will endorse and nominate a corporate fat-cat butt-kisser who will do nothing but push along the agenda set forth by corporate America.

Either way, we are all screwed. Neither the corporate puppets of the GOP nor the limosine liberals care one iota about the average shmuck on the street.

From everything I have read about the candidates, Ron Paul is the only Conservative in the bunch. The Republicans won't vote for him, though. They would rather have another bad actor, or a consummate politician, like Mitt. They like guys like that, not someone who really practices what he preaches.

there are no true conservatives on the ballot. The republican party and democratic party both sold out years ago and are two center parties that only fight over two things, Gay rights, and Abortion rights. thats it, all of the meaningful political ideas are the same. They both want to strenghten central government, they both want to introduce more government programs, and they both want to take away individual freedoms such as smoking, choosing to not wear your seatbelt, and use of fireworks. There is no conservative party in our country at the moment, one needs to be created.
P.S. If you think believing that gays getting married is wrong, and abortion is wrong, makes you a conservative, you make me sick, conservatives believe in small government, individual rights, and few social services. (not exactly lower taxes, in the way that republicans mean, by lowering taxes and creating more programs, they believe in lowering taxes, by taking away unneeded government programs.) Anyway there is no true conservative running, there is no true conservative in office, and the democratic and republican parties are identical, except those two items, that should matter least of all to a country as front line issues.

Ron Paul is the only Conservative on either side

here is part of his voting record

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.

He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.

He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program

Barry Goldwater was a true conservative, in the best sense of the word.

Romney is the closest.

That last conservative was Regan.

If you want a 'real' conservative, you'll have to hope Gingrich runs.
