It could be that, or it could be many other things such as your round ligaments stretching. There's a hormone called relaxin that makes EVERYTHING, even the cartilage between your bones relax, 'cos everything, mama, is gonna be stretchin', and some of it is just NEVER going to go back again to where it was before, so know that ahead, okay? Then you'll have slightly more realistic expectations. You also should read Silent Knife. It's ESSENTIAL to do this for Caesarian prevention. Some Ob/Gyn's are approaching a 50% or higher C-Sec rate, and they prey on 1st time moms who don't know their *** from a hole in the ground about childbirth. Get yourself a midwife. It's a MUCH better kind of birth for the mama, the papa, and the baby: kinder, gentler, more loving, more courageous, and much BETTER. I know. I've done both. My 1st baby took 4 days to get born. Had I been at a hospital instead of a birth center, I more than likely would have a) had serious interventions and b) ended up sectioned. I have a dear friend who was sectioned against her will with her first baby and she's not over the trauma yet and it's four years later. The C-Sec, btw, was NOT necessary. She's gone on to have a VBAC, but the original trauma is still there in full, ugly flower, and is largely unhealed and may be unhealable. She feels positively violated, lied to, raped and as if her birth was stolen from her. In truth, it was.
So do yourself a favour, and EDUCATE yourself and keep yourself out of harm's way by going to midwives. Sheila Kitzinger's works, and Spiritual Midwifery by Ina Mae Gaskin are classics in the field, and wonderful reading, as is Birth Without Violence by Leboyer. I also love Michel Odent's work very much. Joining the La Leche League before my babies were born was also an excellent choice, and gave me many friends that were birthing and rearing their children in healthy, natural ways as well. Highly recommended.

It would be considered normal, obviously your womb is stretching to make room for a baby. Your tummy will definitely get bigger. The only thing is that, your intestines and stomach will get squished too. As the baby grows, your womb will increase in size and move upwards, moving your intestines there as well. At the later stage, some might even find it hard to breathe. If the pain is still bearable, then there's not much of a concern. If the pain gets unbearable, then, you should go see an obstatrician. Prenatal or antenatal classes are good too. They'll help prepare you for what your body is going to change into. yepz! congrats on your pregnancy!

Yes early pregnancy is when your body is changing and stretching to accommodate baby for later. Muscles, ligaments, and your uterus...they're all stretching right now. I used to get those achy pains in the afternoon. OMG it felt like I had done 1,000 situps and then went belly dancing all night.
I would say you're right on schedule Pumpkin :)
Good luck and congrats!
