I am so jealous of what other people I know have that I don't have. I don't know how to stop comparing. This of course makes me depressed. I know, what you're going to say. I should compare myself to some third world country but I can't compare myself to someone living somewhere else with different circumstances. I feel like a failure in my own society with people with similar advantages. Please, don't give cruel responses because I am severely depressed.

I've been on meds over a year and it made me indifferent and unemotional. Prior to the meds, I was always crying, etc. So like it was like I stopped getting upset at things. But just lately, having to take my Pa to the hospital, I just started crying again. Does it mean the meds stopped working?

My doc is on vacation until next month. I feel like I am lost. I worry constantly about my parent's health which is not good. I don't know if I can hold it together as I continue to take them to hospital the next few weeks. I am sorry that I disappointed them and I don't know how to be strong and support them as if everything is fine because I am scared to continue like this and wait for my doc to be back for further instructions.

maybe life may seem unfair, but you cant control it. u may not have what u want, but when u think about it ur family is all that matters. maybe the people that u are jealous of get whatever material objects they want, but maybe they are miserable because there family isnt always with them because in truth money doesnt buy happiness. anyway u should just think if u really need what they have or want it. u be the judge of if u need things or want thing. u have a loving and caring family even if u dont know it, but the stuff they get wont matter in their time of need. but ur family will always be there 4 u.

I'm not a doctor, but I think your meds never worked. I don't think your problem is something that meds can help. You have to realize that there are more important things in life than having stuff. Seek happiness in relationships or activities. I think you'll find that if you are busy doing fun things or helping others, you will care less about how you compare to other people. Jealousy is not something that meds can take away. You have to work to get it out of your life. When I am depressed I feel jealous of people that are better than me and not necessarily the ones who have the most and the best stuff. You need to understand thatt if you are depressed for certain reasons, meds cannot help. The only way you can get better is if you change how you think. Meds cannot really do that.

depression is cyclical which is why it's so difficult to overcome - but know that it is possible. The best help you can possibly get is with a professional - set a time limit, like 6 months to see a therapist AND be open to psychotropic medications. Not only have I survived depression, but I've also been counseling others for the past 10 years and I strongly recommend it.
Folks here can give you some help, but overcoming depression is a process - not an event. Invest in yourself - you'll find you're really worth it - and believe me, it doesn't get better than that.

When you are at the hospital with you Pa - take a ride up the elevator to the Children's Cancer Ward. There is usually a play room there for them stop in and play with the children, make them laugh. Talk to the nurses on that floor they will understand and be grateful for you to entertain the children.
This will give you a since of accomplishment and is very rewarding,

if you were crying a lot then probably you should have taken different kinds of B vitamins, like B12.
You need a plan so that you can work toward and have what others have. You know you can do it. There's no need to compare with others...start competing with yourself. Set your goals. You didn't say your age, but let me say that knowledge is power, so get more education and that will bring you more confidence in yourself. Once you start to earn (if you haven't already) then you will feel better about yourself in that you can start moving ahead, whether they be small steps or large steps, you can feel proud that you did it yourself.

aww honey... u know sometimes i feel like the same cuz i stutter, so i try to not to talk to pretty girls cuz of this... cuz im cute and all the thing is that im shy cuz of my stuttering.. cuz i have many girls following me but i dont talk to them... so i get jealous of those guys that can talk well and they dont take advantage. so i feel depressed many times as well. i dont wanna go out or nothing. but with the help of my family or friends i am motivated to go to places. wat u need is good friends that u can trust them so u can tell ur problems to them. and they will make u feel better. if u need more help let me know:)

you should start by refusing to compair yourself with any one else. tell yourself that you are you and nobody can else can be you. which works both ways, you can not be someone else. find yourself by knowing your likes and dislikes. that will set your guidelines of who you are. you can not be a failure if you know who you are. after that life is easier. It took me almost 25 years of my life to learn this.

Please call on the name of Jesus - he will save you and heal you of all sicknesses. Go to church and find rest in your soul and let your pastor or church members pray for you...it works for me all the time...........because GOD is real and HE is still living today!~
