Your right we ALL are racists. Black people can really be bad about this. I don't live near any black people but work with alot. I don't look at color, I look at work ethic, personality, and if we like the same stuff. Actually at work my best friend is black. I get along better with him then anyone else there. To me hes not my black friend. Hes just my friend, and as with all friends if he needed me tomorrow I would be there.

Racist is a word with very negative connotations.I think i know what you are getting at but i wouldn't have put it that way.We are all different, and to use the words of another - we are all equal, its just that some of us are more equal than others.
To believe we are all exactly the same is not accurate, but to treat someone with prejudice because of those differences is wrong. We all deserve the same rights, respect and opportunities, regardless of our differences.
I am aware that other people are different from myself, that people have different skill levels, different attributes and different abilities. Some cultures are further advanced than others. But i would not consider myself racist, based on the fact that i treat all people fairly and equally,no matter what i may or may not think about that person.
Being racist is about the way you treat others.Nobody knows what you are thinking except by the display of your actions. And actions can speak louder than any words.

My opinion is that recent history has reserved the word "racist" for white people (obvious reasons). History also has equated racism with bigotry, prejudice and oppressive domination.
Racism now receives softer and softer definitions all the time. I think more progress can be made when people of minority groups begin to admit that they too are racist, cannot help it, and want to reach a common ground in spite of their racism.
There needs to be a less accusatory tone in terms of racism if we want to be able to open up discussion and solve problems. Just picking on people to admit how horrible they are isn't going to work. When people are told they are horrible, they will either go into denial or become extremely defensive.
Discussion isn't going to work by pointing fingers and making people feel bad.

You may or may not be right.I do not feel that I am a racist,But the point is if we are all racist to some degree,we must be willing to change and not judge people by color, but by the way they present themselves to us individually. For God's sake people ,don't spread your racist beliefs to your kids.Give the next generation a chance to grow up ignorant FREE.

If it's subconscious then you wouldn't realize it as that is the definition. There's a definite line between being proud and being racist. We all have not so perfect thoughts and tendencies it's only the idiots that act out on them that are considered racist in my mind.

I don't think it's that we are all racist (not even subconsciously), I think it's that on some level we all fear the unknown. Whether we like it or not, we can never fully know what it's like for another person. We do not have that capability, so we fear the unknown in each person on some level anyway.

Yes, we all feel more comfortable around people of the same race as ourselves, but there are a few exceptions with certain types of friends and stuff. We are all rascist, but we do not all choose to express it or turn it into hate.

So what you're saying is it's not okay to be racist but its perfectly okay for you to group all of us together and say we're bad? Think before you type please....You're contributing to the angry views towards some people.

I really don't think I am racist. I am equally suspicious of all people, no matter what color they are.
