Chinese New Year Holidays in Vietnam

It is so different from US. People celebrate in mostly 3 days and we young children always get lucky money from adults which is great. My parents didnt have to work so they took me and my brother to the amusement park. Then at night, we invited our relatives to our house and gamble until morning. I couldnt forget the atmosphere of those happy days. Now I can never have those days back again.

I have a particularly vivid memory of a picnic on the front lawn of my next-door neighbor's house, with my mother coming across the driveway with a platter of sandwiches. It wasn't the only such picnic I had with my friends, but somehow that one stands out in my mind. I guess it pleased me that my mother and my friend's mother went all out to show us a good time.

I don't know that I have only one.
I remember how wonderful it was to be able to crawl onto my mom's lap and have her rock me to sleep.
I remember dragging my mom's mattress down to the living room so we could watch movies lying down, eating candy and popcorn with my mom,and brother.
Staying up late to read the funny little anecdotes in Reader's Digest, and laughing so loud (at 1:00, or 2:00 in the morning) that I'd wake up the whole house, and get in trouble for being up so late.
Having a water balloon fight with my friend in my upstairs bedroom. heheheh! I still laugh about that one.
I could go on, and on. Have a good night, and God Bless.

One of my favorite childhood memories is of selling pixie cups of lemonade and black cherries picked from a tree in my best friends back yard . during the summer we would fund our "Candy Runs" that way.

For my first Christmas in Germany I got this huge, wooden dollhouse complete with furniture, appliances, and dishes. It actually had stairways and even an attic and basement.

playing with new people like they've been your best friends cause back then, no one cared what other people thought. now that we all grew up, we're all so self conscious about everything. it makes it that much harder to socialize with people cause we're all trying to make a good first impression.
