Just be there for him. Listen and keep him busy (doing things you guys enjoy doing). Like #1 said, dont' give advise unless asked and even at that, be careful what you say. Whatever you do, no matter what the situation is, don't bash or bad-mouth the wife.

it is a time of crisis in ur best friends life......so just try to be there for him........n show him that he will not be left alone after going through this.......always advice him correctly but let him make the final decision n don't be upset if in the end wht he decides isn't wht u want.......be there with him n if u find him constantly sulking then change his mood n bring up different topics for dicussion.......don't let his life rotate around his divorce involve him in activities he n u like and do it together......all the best to u..........

well if your trying to support a opposite sex its really difficult because its easy to step over the boundary or be mistaken of doing something that your not suppose to . i would make myself available when he or she needs someone to talk to. not sexual either just friends. people are usually more vulernable when things like this happens they are trying to find comfort instead of dealing with the feelings which he or should do

Just listen to him, when he needs to talk. They could always get back together again so I wouldn't talk trash about the wife.

Support their decisions. Don't encourage them to do anything bad, like suicide, but listen to them and help them get through their tough times.
