ok is it just me or are both movies RETARDED. really i mean the first one was about ppl trying out for a musical it doesn't even say wat the musical is a bout and the second one??? really i was channel surffing between commercial breaks and it was on familly. and the dude troy memorized a song sooo quickly? is that even possible?? yesh stupid movie

Todays youth are just materialistic airheads with very little taste. Look at their Icons:
Lindsay Lohan, Hilary Duff, Miley Cyrus, Paris Hilton, High school musical, etc...
In the past you had Elvis, The Beatles, James Brown, Led Zeppelin, Michael and Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston, Madonna, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys; At least these people have and had talent.
Look at the musicals of the past; West side Story, Grease, Fiddler on the Roof, Wizard of Oz, Oklahoma, and then.......High school Musical? If there is any question that todays youth are a bunch of computer mindless robots, just look at their taste today. A bunch of followers.
Never has the talent in music, or entertainment been so low. Jay Z is right; hip hop and music in general is dead, and todays youth killed it. Their standards are so low that people like Clay Aikens and Kelley Clarkson can be superstars.

First of all I'd like to point out that in general most (NOT ALL) but most musicals and even a fair amount of operas (especially the comedies) in plot are quite unrealistic.
As far as the acting goes, well anyone who grew up watching Disney could easily see that there has certainly been a decline in the overall quality of the shows. Sadly this show probably one of the better Disney productions in the past few years. Overall their animated films are practically the only major consistently quality productions with a few others thrown in the mix.

I honestly do not see what is so good about them I have seen both of them and I would rate them both as below par, yet this obsession with them continues.
Here is a conversation I heard today:
"(Name), did you see High School Musical 2?"
"Yeah. It was great. I downloaded the songs on my iPod. Troy is so cute!"
"Oh my God, I know. I saw him without a shirt in a magezine!"
Wow. Get a life, people.

I love both movies. Although now that you mentioned it. What was the musical about? And I wondered that myself about Troy memorizing a song that fast. No one can do that. There is a 3rd High School Musical comeing out.

ok its not stupidand yes ppl can memorize songs like that heck i can do that its not that hard and i'm 12. but it did tell you what the musical was about if you watch the 1st movie again and if you watch and acutally listen to what they are saying and singing than you can really understand it. : -(

I heard it being compared to Grease!!...Can you believe that!?!?! The bloody nerve. The singing is whack, the dancing is nerdy and there is no stinkin' plot.

Have no fear. I, also, find both films stupid. Granted, I didn't bother watching the second one, but that's only because the first one sucked.
