Hilary wasn't even in office back then. How could she be held responsible for failing to do a job she never had?

Considering that the health insurance mafia spent about a hundred million dollars against what was only a rough plan...not even a plan that had any official discussion, 'ya gotta' figure she scared the pants off a lot of people who saw their lock on a 50 billion dollar market going into the hopper. Actually, her 'plan' was darn good...it would have covered all Americans with low cost/high quality HEALTH INSURANCE that couldn't be cancelled with very low deductibles and co-pays. There was zero in this idea that woould have affected the HEALTH CARE industry, except that doctors and hospitals would have gotten paid infull and on time. It would have eliminated all the various state medicade programs...a situation that alone would have saved almost 50 billion in state funds. Too bad...this should have been discussed, refined, planned out and instituted. To bad the reactionaries of the current GOP despise anything that might be a help to the American wage-earner if it might hurt their big money lobbying friends.

The uneducated Bush Bashers on here will have no idea what your talking about like the first guy who answered. Hilary's major Project as first lady was her Failed Health care plan that was a disaster. Socialized medicine is a nightmare.

Examples do you really want the government to tell you if your elibible for surgery or a transplant??? Who decideds in a socialist Health care system why one person gets a transplant and the other doesn't??? What about picking your own doctor or being able to SUE for malpractice, you can't sue the federal gov. What about second opinins??? How do you feel about an agency like DMV schedulinng your doctors appointments. The U.S. in a free society and market are the world leaders i Medicine break throughs, because the funding is there. liberals be very careful pf what you wish for!!!!

Oh no...she should take lessons from George?

Like his social security success, or the pharmaceutical clusterf*ck we got with the new drug "benefit" or maybe the wonderful energy policy whose whole thing was written by the oil companies, maybe, Cheney won't release the attendance. Or maybe the wonderful success of the Iraq war, or the capture of Osama, or the continuation of the corporate welfare queens?

Of course the Health care problems have all been taken care since Bush came in...Haven't they?

Maybe one failure from Hillary is acceptable, maybe she learned, isn't it time to wish Bush could learn. Anything, on any level?

Lets get one thing straight, you don't choose your own physician now, he is either on the list or hes not, you don't choose your own hospital now, for the same reason, and unless its and emergency, neither do you choose to have an operation or a test unless your insurance company approves it and they don't always, sometimes you have to file with the state to prod them into doing what you thought you were paying them to do in the first place. A practice that can leave you in pain for months. Don't any of you have insurance that you keep thinking that its a day in the park to get them to approve what you and your doctor feel you need?

YES
Hillary is all about making the individual completely dependent on government.
All of these examples take power away from the government and give it to the individual.

She voted against providing seniors with a prescription drug benefit.

She voted against allowing people to save tax free for their out-of-pocket medical expenses.

She voted against medical liability reform so that docs are not forced out of practice by junk lawsuits.

She opposes leveling the playing field so that people who pay for health insurance out of their own pocket get the same tax break the big corporations get for providing health care benefits to their employees.

She's against allowing people to shop for health insurance across state lines like we do with auto insurance so the consumers would have more choices and there'd be competition to get your business, give you more for less.

She's voting for penalizing seniors who have those private health care plans through Medicare.

The plan failed because of coordinated and completely false fear-mongering PR campaign by major interests with a lot of money at stake.

The Americans were misinformed about what was proposed and what the facts were, just as they are now when they continue to tout our system as the envy of the world.

Sometimes you can lead a horse to water, ya know?

Just think about how much money and lives would have been saved if her plan would have been implemented back then. Much like President Carter's speech about alternative energy initiatives, she was ahead of her time in what she wanted to do.

It was her job because President Bill Clinton put her charge of it and she failed. Is not every push for change a PR campaign and if she failed there, what would make us think she would succeed now? Her response will be, Bill, what should I do?

It failed because the Repubs. said she wasn't elected so she shouldn't be given such an important position....and they blocked her at every turn.

So.....she backed off.

ok, first, the only way she'll make back in the Whitehouse is if she pays for the tour like everyone else. secondly, she would never get anything passed anyway.
