We've decided on the names of the baby, and would like to hear any input...good or bad, that you all may have.
Now, seeing as how my husband is Norwegian and I am American, we wanted names that would fit in relatively in both countries without being too odd.
Erik Aleksander Melvær.
Anya Marie Melvær.
So give me what you got, I'd like to know any critisism he or she may face with these names...

I love the names you've decided on, I don't see why your little one would receive any criticism. The seem like normal names to me, they don't sound different, but they are original. I just love them!!!
CONGRATS!!

Erik is common, but the spelling isn't. Not a bad name though. I like Anya- very Skandanavian sounding, pretty and not too common in the USA.

I love them both, good job, they flow nicely and sound strong... nothing wrong with them in my book except I'd spell it Alexander...but I don't have an Norwegian input hehe.

I think both names are beautiful. Different but not too much. Plus, they even sound good. Good choice:)
P.s: Congratulations!

NEVER give a baby boy a name that can also be taken as a baby girls name. Such as "Jessy (boy)/ Jessie (girl)". I've had over 5,000 students as a public school teacher, and I NEVER had a BOY named Jessy who turned out good. They were all BAD people when they hit their teenage years. I suspect it had a LOT to do with their feminine sounding name.
