I'm tired of the "I want this, I want that" attitude every single year. I think something needs to get done. Start hating Christmas! Come on people find the love inside you to kill off Santa. Look, you can spell Satan out of Santa. What does that say? We need to create a resistance, THE CHRISTMAS RESISTANCE!!

Looks like you would have loved Oliver Cromwell as well as the Puritans. Of course my favorite story is how the Dutch Calvinists try to put a stop to St.Nicholas Day and the sailors rioted thus putting an end to that ban. How about how the Pilgrims went off to work on Christmas Day, but their servants refused to work and much to the pilgrims horror played games and had fun.

Long Live the Restoration.

Sorry I'm not with you.
I enjoy the Christmas Holidays as a time to see family that is normally spread across the state.
I'll give a gift to each of my nieces, nephews, there spouses and children - not because I feel I have to but because I enjoy it. This year many of the women will be getting scarfs that I have been knitting since spring time. I like to choice the yarn thinking of each family member and the colors that they like, then as I make the scarf - I think about that person and the fun memories that we have together.
I am tired of people trying to make a big deal about how a derivation of the word saint can have its letters twisted all around to spell something else. But then I laugh about it a little when the one who is complaining has a computer ID admitting that they are crazy.
The problem is not Christmas.
The problem is not the spirit of giving that Santa Claus represents.
The problem is that people let themselves focus on an "i want" mentality.
The truth is that - You can help change that -
do not buy into it youself and instead focus on what how you want to share with people and how you can couse magic to happen. Teach the youth that you interact with the joys of giving not from there wallet but from their heart from their character (not just at Chrsitmas but year round)
After Christmas ask a room ful of people to tell you what their favorite Christmas present was. The people that are intinsically happy will be giving you answers like "The picture of my granchild" . "the pincusion that my nieces made me out of a scrap of fabric and a styrofoam ball", "the cookies that a neighbor brought over and then we had a cup of tea and talked", "the look on ___'s face when they saw" The people that are cronically unhappy are the ones that are complaining about what they didn't get, how much work they put into stuff etc. Take reponsibility for your own happiness and line up with those that are givers of cheer.
I'm not boycotting Christmas - I will try to help people understand - year round - that joy is in giving from the heart and appreciating the small things in life.

NO WAY, Christmas is a time for giving, love and family. (and also some religious thing for religious people), but in all, not everyone takes on the avarice attitude, and i wont let them ruin it for me! i love putting up the tree, cooking the roast and setting the table. i love having my family come round and give them gifts, sing songs and have a party. i love pulling those cracker things and kissing my BF under the miseltoe, come on, it only happens once a year, make the most of it aye!

So, you think Christmas is a humbug? I avoid it, too, but not for the same reasons you have. If you look up the origins of this festival in an encyclopoedia, you're in for a shock. Jesus' day of birth is never revealed in the Bible. And, it does tend to make people a bit greedy - that's exactly what the retailers want. They count on it, actually. The suicide rate goes up at that time of year, too. Yikes! I much prefer to surprise my kids with goodies when I feel like, not according to the calendar.
