Find the native resolution of the monitor from the marketing info or the user guide.

Set the desktop resolution to that setting. Set the refresh rate to 60 Hz.

Open up Notepad and fill the screen with H characters, then press the Auto Setup button on the monitor.


If you can not set the desktop to the monitor's native resolution then try downloading the latest video drivers from the video chiptet manufacturer's web site.

Most newer monitors have buttons on the front or side where you can adjust the width/height,ratio,brightness etc. with an on-screen menu.

go to DIsplay in XT

find that, then muck with the settings in the resolution setting

go for 1024x768 if all else fails
