lol Katrina, wassup wit dat? ...Burt young is a cool actor..it was and is a classic movie...

I think the movie is quite 'dark and disturbing'. It has alot of nasty and unsettling undertones to it.
The dad, is over powering and quite brutal. It is pretty much suggested that his behaviour toward his son might well have contributed to him becoming unbalanced.
However the thing I can not quite get away with on it, is that the movie was based on a true story and to be honest is quite distant from the truth. People were still alive and potentially affected by the allegations and insinuations that came out of the movie. So, although the movie was okay in itself I object to exploiting another family's grief, especially not even ten years after the real events took place!
Burt Young was in loads of movies as the strong Italian-American type from Rocky to The Sopranos and quite a few in between. He is quite a good, if stereotyped actor!

Burt Young played a bullying patriarch in the movie, but badly. Mr Young is not a particularly good actor, just look at his wretched overacting in the Rocky films, that nearly stole the limelight from fellow appalling actor Stallone. Burgess Meredith was also awful but his crime against the cinema is worse, as he was quite an established character actor who should know better.There is no truth in any of the Amytiville movies, the 1st was based on a pack of lies and the rest were just Hollywood nonsense.
