I'm not particularly fond of journalists anymore. I know they want to get as much of the story to their viewers, but they crossed the line back in April. After the shootings at Virginia Tech one journalist actually faked having a broken arm so they could sneak into the hospital to get at some of the injured. Another wore a priests collar to get in. And there were MANY more. Everytime we stepped outside we were bombarded with questions and camera's shoved in our faces. The local media would back away if you said no, but anyone from outside of the Blacksburg area would not let up.
Dr. Phil actually went on air criticizing the students and faculty for not trying to tackle the guy. This was immediately after they happened! All the accounts from the survivors had not been heard yet. People did try to stop him, but they weren't much of a match for the gunman.

Every person in the world could be stated as being a prostitute because in one way or another we all live off other people. That's the way we are. By picking out just form of employement as you see fit doesn't change the fact that we all want something from someone else.

You can't paint them all with one brush. Keep watching and reading and form your own opinions about who's legit. Who reports a story first, and who simply parrots other reporters? Who digs for hidden information? Recognize the difference between hard news reporting vs. opinions, talk shows and internet posting. The net has changed journalism so much that it's difficult to know what is and isn't true. But it has also brought out some incredible information with amazing speed, unheard of until the past decade.

I would like to direct this answer to the poster named "NooNoo":
No, he was accusing them of being stupid and tools like you of being even more retarded for believing journalists are intelligent.
American journalists, as far as I can tell, are the most ignorant members of society. Yet, their mouths are bigger than their brains, which is why they spread rumors and lies, and create stories for higher authorities that control them. All the while it seems they are pretty satisfied with themselves, even thinking they are smart. But the truth is: They have almost no in-depth knowledge of the subjects they report most of the time. Nor do they seem to possess any intelligent capacity to learn the subjects that they don't understand. They mouth off like a runaway train once they have just scraped the surface. This is not just a generalization. Since American journalists (almost all of them) behave in similar ways, one has to conclude that those who go into this profession are self-selected, meaning that only certain types of self-complacent fools tend to choose the journalism profession, at least in this country. Of course, one can observe that selection is also done by those who have authority in journalism, who are the established fools mentioned above. Therefore, they tend to choose the type of people most compatible with them, creating a cycle of dumb and dumber journalists.
