The movie was Escape To Witch Mountain... The original was from the 70's I think but Disney re-released it in the 90's starring Erik Von Detton. Unfortunately, for both of us (it's one of my favorites) it is not yet available on DVD.

It is definately Escape to Witch Mountain.(although they didn't have to touch.. that just made it easier for large objects).. and it IS available on DVD.. (I own it)
