I just don't understand! I'm looking at statistics and every year there are over 400,000 US deaths directly related to smoking. The Iraq War has drawn a little over 3700 US casualties. I feel the war is stupid and that we are under a misconception there, but why are the tobacco companies not stopped? It does not seem fair. I'm very novice when it comes to the tobacco and war debate, however just by looking at the numbers, this is what I get out of it. By all means this is not anything against the soldiers fighting for our Country. I wanted this to be more of a debate between the Deaths these two things have caused.

We're not focused on the tobacco companies, because that's so pre 9-11.

Nicotine is one of the most addictive drugs in the world, and tobacco companies know it. It is a key part of their plan to get you a customer for life. You are physically addicted to a lethal product you can buy anywhere. It's not suprising it is a massive problem. It is not just a concept of, "Hey they chose to do it, now it is their fault if they get lung cancer." You propbably only understand this if you are a nicotine addict. The Iraq war is not really related to the tobacco issue. I guess when America is fighting a full scale war in the Middle East, against Al Qaida, well, that gets some attention. Tobacco kills, war kills, and you don't make big news without a death story. Why do I think this is the opposite of how it should be?

There is a better marketing team selling the Iraq war under the scheme of fighting terrorism than the one telling people to stop using tobacco products.

i dont blame tobacco companies for it. would these people drink a little poison everyday even though it had a warning label. There is a warning label on every pack of cigarettes and people keep shelling out 3 to 4 dollars a pack. I even tried an experiment once to see which item a poor person prefered most would rather have a cigarette rather than something to eat. peoples fault not tobacco co fault

Your attack of the tobacco companies have been going on for years and I believe they are brain washing everyone to believe that tobacco is the cause of all these death when actually it is not the truth. I have smoked since I was 18 and am 47.

I believe they have diagnosed cancer to receive money. I don't believe they have a cure for cancer I don't believe they have treatment for cancer and I don't believe a diagnosis of cancer. Since I have seen non smokers diagnosed tortured until death with no positive result from treatment. I personally will take my chance with the disease than put my trust in a doctor diagnosing cancer. The only positive effect the diagnosis of cancer has is to make the doctor richer.

I have refused any test for cancer and will continue to do so. If someone diagnoses me with cancer I will search for a new doctor.

The only comparison between war is the leader of the free world declared war. He took liberties with his power by doing so. He has lied to us making us believe our teen age men and young adults must protect us from weapons of mass destruction which there are none of. A fight me and my sons would gladly fend off the possibility of attack by nuclear holocaust. This is a fight worth fighting. They have given no other sufficient reason to put my son or me in harms way.

We have always gone around the world in peace keeping missions and that is what this is at this time. Not a war. Furthermore these people don't want us their and Africans Dufar are begging our help.

Because there's only 30 minutes of air time and everyone is pissed that they didn't make it to the front page.

Well the casualties in Iraq war is more or less preventable and are the result of someone else's stupidity.

On the other hand, if someone wants to smoke and die, it's really their buisness.
