We had a black flying insect in our house and the tail curved around like a scorpion anyone know what it is?

Okay first answer in was an earwig which it is not. It's a really flat bug and has no horns on it's tail. It was just flying around the room and was shiny jet black. It looked very menacing...

probably an earwig. Check Google images and see if that's what it looks like.

Probably an ichneumon fly.
