Absolutely, you can and will if you do this. First you put your 110% trust in Him, know that He loves you more than you can fathom, put Him first above everthing else, pray to Him daily anytime and anywhere, He listens. And read His word every day. That is a good way to get to know Him. Religion is your relationship with God, you will find your life will be filled with joy if you do these things. Remember to love Him with all your heart and all your soul and then love your neighbor (everyone in the world) as well the same. God bless you and take care.

When I'm alone, I go to my room and talk to God like person to person. I tell him my joys, worries, hopes, etc. I can tell when it gets through because all of a sudden tears fall even if I'm not sad. Since I've been doing such, I feel a lot better and things work out.
Going to church, attending prayer meetings don't work for me.

By doing what S/He specifically designed you do. The ability to reason about our ends and means rationally is the one mental faculty that humans have that other animals do not. To best connect to God is to understand His creation... You. To do so is think rationally and act in such a manner as to best respect all of His creations.

For me, my connection with God comes with knowing that He is always there and is always listening and never judging. I just believe that.

Preaching won't get you any closer to god.
Just closer to people whom are seeking answers from god.
However.... by doing GOOD to others... as you would hope others would do upon you.... won't hurt you nor thy neighbor.
I would believe... this would give you GREAT KARMA and i am certain God will see this and so will others whom surround you!

1. Have Faith
2. meditate on the word of God day & night
3. get yourself into a church with other believers (can't do it alone in this day & time)
4. of course praying

Through prayer, and keeping His commandments. Read your Bible, and follow what it says "EXACTLY" !! And you won't ever have any problems connecting with God.
