I currently have 3 bala sharks, 3 black-skirt tetras, 1 opaline gourami, and 1 angel fish in a 29 gallon aquarium. I got all these fish about 1 1/2 months ago so they still small. I plan on upgrading to a 125 gallon tank. When will I need to do this? How much time will it be until I need to upgrade?

With 3 of them in the tank and other fish besides, I would say you need to move them when they are about 4" long, certainly no more than 5" each. How long that will be depends on lots of factors, but certainly not more than a few months.

The rule of thumb is for every one inch of fish you need two square inches of surface.Which is the the width and length.
