are they a common pet? can you get them at petstores?

Unless you have a few thousand dollars burning a hole in your pocket, I would advise against it. Jellyfish drift with the current, so they need a perfectly round tank with the current angled just right so they don't hit the glass. They are by no stretch of the imagination "common" and would cost a couple of hundred dollars to purchase... Stick with fish for the time being...

They're certainly beautiful, but only the most advance hobbiests should keep them at home.

You would have to call around to exotic pet stores in your area or the surrounding cities and see if they had them. You would also be required to buy a special Kreisel tank for them, as they are very dependent on the water currents to carry their food to them and keep them afloat.

The fish themselves aren't cheap, and are very delicate and not all too easy to care for. Plus the tanks are very pricey (some costing several thousand dollars).
