I don't believe there is any such thing as a quick divorce, but there are ways to make the process go a bit faster. I just recently divorced and it took me 11 months, but I had a child involved. I didn't have any property to split with him though so that saved alot of hassle. If you and your ex can come to an agreement on that kind of stuff, like seperating property, then things will move a little faster. Also, if there are children involved and you guys can come to terms on custody and visitations and that fun stuff, that will help it move along faster, too. I'm sorry you're going through this..it's definately not easy and lawyers cost WAY too much! I hope all goes well for you. Good luck!

Go to the local book store... like Barnes & Noble. Get the latest "Do it yourself divorce guide" for your state... should include a CD-ROM with all the forms. If not, you can go on the state's onw website and download the PDF forms to fill out.
Fill out the forms, go to the courthouse and FILE for divorce. It will cost you a couple hundred dollars in various fees.
Don't worry if you don't know where he lives or works anymore. File it under abandonment.

You need the divorce to get your own credit records separated from his and so forth. You don't want anyone showing up trying to collect his debts from you.

I don't know if there is a simple or quick divorce, but you might want to talk to the court house and see what are the steps to do that.

In the newspaper you may find a cheap divorce for about $169.00. I used them and they send you all the paper work you fill out and send back to them. Like getting his signature, notorized etc. But that was a no contested divorce. If property or children are involved you won't be able to do that.

Do you have any kids? There isn't a simple quick divorce if there are kids involved. Other than that, if you aren't fighting over anything then it shouldn't take long.

Any children?
Are both interested in ending marriage or just you?
Are you ready to have someone else be named as their significant other and you not being mentioned at all in their obituary?

go to your local courthouse...if you both agree on everything ... you can pick up the paperwork for $1.00. Fill them out and both of you sign them in front of a notary public. file them at your local courthouse for less than $200 usually and in 90 days you will be divorced.
be cool...
